Neuros Defeat PSP Firmware V2.7 Glitch - New Features Coming Too!
A few days back it was reported that the MP4 file constructor was Refined for Sony's latest PSP Firmware - this halted the instant playback offered by the Neuros Mini MPEG 4 recorder on Sony's hand-held. Several tech websites blown the whole event out of proportion, with some even foolishly implying that it was the end of the line for the Neuros recorder. This was not and will never be the case, we have heard that Neuros have solved the problem and a new firmware for the Neuros recorder will be released. They have even thrown in new higher recording solutions for Ipods, Super Fine QVGA recording options and have gone as far as to add new resolutions for the red hot smartphones.
Here is a run down of some of the new features the new Neuros firmware will offer, REMEMBER this is software for the recorder only and not your PSP. To install it, all you have to do is load the file to your memory medium, insert it to the recorder and navigate the menu...
Upcoming Neuros Firmware Features
- New recording resolution: QCIF and QVGA @ 15 frames/s (for smartphones, most can not handle QVGA @ 30 fps).
- You now can record QVGA with a fine and superfine setting (it used to be limited to economy and normal because of the PSP limitations. PSP can not playback files encoded above 768kbps from a memory stick). That means iPod owners will be able to playback files recording at higher bit rates.
-A new file structure (work in progress) as Neuros want to make sure users are aware of the limitations of their own devices.
You can expect the new firmware to be available sometime next week from NeurosTechnology.com. In the meantime, the Neuros R2 has been receiving a hell of a lot of press attention as can be seen here. The latest review by What Hi Fi simply concludes ''This is a PSP must have''. GQ and Boys Toys recently concluded the product was a 'genius gadget' and 'brilliant' respectively.
When we at MaxConsole first heard about the Neuros Recorder 2 many months ago, we were wondering what on earth this device done. After we got to grips with it in our review we began to realize what all the fuss was about. This product allows you to record directly from your TV ANYTHING you want perfectly formatted onto a Pro Duo/CF ready for INSTANT playback on your PSP or Ipod. There is no conversion on your end, all you have to do is when your recording is done, take out your memory stick, plug it into your PSP and enjoy!
