Screw Specs For The Dol-001

I have the specs for the thread size of the screw the dol-001 uses, so if you'd like to walk into a hardware store mine worked and if you have a dol-001 it should work also.

specs for the screw

4x5/8
number 4 screw.

perhaps a sticky where people can post what screws have worked on there's?

why not just make a notch with a dremel/hacksaw so you dont have to buy anything?
just a thought.

For people with a dremel/hacksaw, thats a good idea, but for those without one, it costs less then $1 to buy new ones.

i did both but instead of using a dremel i just used an inustrial steak knife. take your time though and don't make my mistake by not making your notch on the screw before really goin at it hence the reason i had to buy regular screws. But regular screws kick so much more ass.

Nice job wingnut, I tried to do it with a dremel and hacksaw but couldn't succeed.

I bought some 2.9x19mm screws, are these also good?

problem is though is that the shafts are plastic so even if they feel like the fit the only way to truely know is to screw them in and out a couple times to see if you didn't actually shred the shafting. But if your just gonna keep the top on like everybody else on the planet and they fit SUCCESS. But that doesn't mean you didn't shred the shaft to ****.

Just get number 4 wood screws. The wood screws have the exact same threading as the original screws, so they go in exactly like the originals, and don't shred up the shaft.

btw we should be posting which dol version gamecube we have they may use different threading with newer gamecubes compared to the newer ones. I'd hate to be responsible for fuckin up somebody's gamecube by starting this thread and not being responsible.

The screws are the same for both DOL-001, and DOL-101 gamecubes.

I 'fucked up' my own cube with some M5 screws. so now I have to use very big screws to close my case. But I've read somewhere that 2.9x19mm are the same as the orignal screws.
