The reason other Memory Sticks don't work is because they employ a slightly different protocol and the boot loader for the allegrex chip doesn't support them. It is a minimal set so it only has driver for MSPD type.

It has to do on how the golden contacts are used to communicate with the PSP on MSPD. There's two kinds of memory sticks. Parallel and Serial. MSPD is parallel with a fallback option to serial. MS Duo is serial only I think... (not sure about this being parallel or serial ony. But I'm sure MS Duo only supports one of the protocols)

That's why the 32MB stick which comes with the PSP value pack doesn't work. It's a Duo card not PRO Duo.
Hmm.. This person is right! lol, but I am stilling putting up a List ahah.

---------
MS List
---------

Sony

Sony 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo High Speed
Sony 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo
Sony 512MB Memory Stick Pro Duo
Sony 256MB Memory Stick Pro Duo
ALL SONY's MS w/ tag Pro Duo

Lexar
Blue Lexar 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo
Black Lexar 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo
ALL LEXAR's MS w/ tag Pro Duo

SanDisk
SanDisk 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo
SanDisk 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo
SanDisk 512MB Memory Stick Pro Duo
ALL SANDISK's MS w/ tag Pro Duo

Fakes
Sony 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo High Speed
ALL FAKES MS w/ tag Pro Duo

This is my Fake MS: (lol it faded, had this for almost two years)

*Warning: Fake MS can be tagged as Pro Duo but isn't really a Pro Duo*

Note: Memory Sticks without the tag "Pro Duo" on it, does NOT!! work! Also, anything over 32MB works!! but remember, it has to say Pro Duo!!

Sony 256MB MSPD - works

One question on the creation of the Pandora MS. In the readme it saids to "disconnect memory stick and disable USB connection", does this mean that one must physically remove the memory stick from the PSP before exiting "USB Connection"?

DOnt matter much but just wondering. Thanks anyways.

I think it is important. as there are reports of people bricking there memorysticks when they do that step wrong or not at all.

BTW: My Sandisk 512mb worked perfect for this
PSP
PSP 1003 TA-081 3 Years 2 Months old since 26/10/05 and still works perfect, also no bad blocks on NAND. Relaced left speaker and Wi-fi switch is tempremental. Blown charging fuse But bridged and working
Memory 8gb, 4gb, 2gb, 1gb x2, 2x 512mb, 32mb
Currently Running: 5.00 M33-2
PSP's i've Downgraded: 15- worked 2- bricked NAND's died, not my fault
