almost evry case mod tutoprial I've seen to make your orig case fit full size dvds usually looks pretty bad, and your just gonna end up cutting into the plastic to make it fit anyway. If you don't want to buy one or change your original, I would sugest that you build one out of your own materials.
I have an Idea, and Idea so smart
that my head would explode
if I even began to know what
I was talking about....

I think this site is very good:
http://www.consoleworkshop.co.uk/Tut...t%20guides.php
it tells you which parts you have to cut (the colored ones :P)
I have not tried this myself but found some nice examples of people who followed this guide, and their gamecube looks like stock from the outside

I tried this with my old black cube and worked good. It's hard to get a mech. working to open the door though. I'd say tape up what you're not cutting with masking tape and go smooth and steady. Eat plenty of protein 4 hours before and take deep breaths .

Oh yeah, and check radio shack for "Rare earth magnets". They're small but strong as hell.

i`ll quote that, the sort of magnets which are used in old hdds are what i used to use as well , small but very very powerfull, and their also flat and can be `snapped` with snips to the desired size and shape.
hot melt glue gun to fix the mag to the top case
hot melt a small strip of thin metal to the bottom, make sure they `marry` (good thing using thin metal as it allows you to bend it so it marrys better.
then, i black primed the underside of the lid to hide all the glue / plastic marks, if done right looks very very nice.
glad me cut out guides help

hmm, thats not a bad idea, enterthehatrix (aka hrtlnd) made a case where there was no lid. Looks like it took forever but it looks good. I'll try to find some pictures.
