Latest GST Re. not working on XG2T 2005 512?

Someone wrote this in another forum:

Well, some people said to me that XG2 Turbo 512mbit carts doesn't work with GST roms. So now i'm asking, can someone confirm that 512mbit carts Works/Doesnt Work. And i also want to know the same about 256mbit carts, as there have been rumors that the new NEO Power Kit 1.1 supports 256 carts.
Thanks!

~DarkKiller~

Are the latest releases not working on XG2T 2005 512M + Passme????

no need to post multiples. I responded in the other thread, as well as on the one at gbatemp.

I´ve heard that the 1 Gb works, but some people say that the 512Mb doesn´t work... so I´m not sure. But I can´t understand this! !Gb XG2T 2005= Neoflash 1Gb.l Why not 512Mb XG2T 2005= Neoflash 512Mb ???
That doesn´t make sense.
Maybe some 512Mb cards are defect.
What do you think?

let me make this clearer for ya, from my POV here is a scan of the hardware, aside from the slimloader, which looks like all other slimIII's:
http://members.shaw.ca/cma_tech/xg2005img.jpg

I have here, now, a XG2 Turbo 2005 512mb with slimloader III usb writer, from IC2005.com. As you can hopefully see, the datecode is 2005/03. Compare it to the images on xg2's site, if its ever up, the pink/clearish 2005 unit comes with the slimloader, the turbo(solid blue?) 2004 comes with the usb adapter.

the test, since no one beleives it DOESNT work, but has no one saying for sure that "mine works". Seeing is beleiving, I didnt beleive it would work, but tried anyway.

rom:0021 - SPIDER-MAN 2 (E).(NDS_save).NDS (from shady using the link)
crc: FF7E5885
GST Release.
Neokit (apps) V1.0 and 1.1 were both tried.
Spiderman USA is in the passme.
DOES NOT WORK. white screens o' death.

Dont waste your money if you are considering buying this cart, wait for the 1G or 2G g6, as they will likely be priced nearly the same, and have much better speeds for flashing them (not to mention a DS specific boot menu).

XG has stopped re-supplying the sellers for the time being, of ONLY the 1gig carts, likely for this specific reason.

It is quite possible there is a defect, seeing the shoddyness of xg's software, that they bungled something on the 512 hardware/firmware and cover it up with their patcher when writing gba games. As of yet, I have run into NO ONE that can say they have an xgt2005 512 that is working with GST roms of any sort.

I wish it werent so, but it is. BTW: DMT's 1.1 tool detects the xg2 512 as a neo 1024, if that doesnt tell you there is something different between it and the neo 512, I dont know what will.

its odd that theres a difference between the 512 and 1gig that makes the 512 not work. im glad i got the 1g turbo one because every single game so far has worked

i am not very happy with it.
because i also have a xg2 2005 512 mb form ic2005.com
and i just ordered a passme a few day's ago.
but i have bouyht it form dspassme.com and i have ordered the one with gbc connector.
isn't that another passme that yours?
and why CAN i burn the roms on my 512mb set then?
don't you do somethng wrong?
i also have seen this website:
http://www.gameboy-advance.net/ninte...flash-card.htm
and there you could read that you can play commercial games with a 512 mb cardridge.

and do your roms stay on your card.
if not than you are using the wrong games.

please let me know it

NeoFlash 512Mb card and Slim Loader III flash writer is a GBA Flash Card analog to the XG2 Turbo and XGflash2 2005 we have already reviewed. ( XG2 2005 Slim and XG2 Turbo) In GBA Mode NeoFlash inherits all the features of XG2 - in fact you can choose to use the XG2 software as it has some features in it that Neoteam has not added to the NEO Power Kit. Both software packages look the same, except XG2flash doesn't have a NDS mode for flashing Nintendo DS roms. Also use XG2 2005 Turbo 512M and 1Gb cards to play commercial NDS ROMs!

Where did you come across this Monkey, and was the comparison drawn with only a 1gig on hand like 64scener.com did? Or perhaps with only second hand suggestions of information wrather than actual testing?

As to your questions: data being put onto a disk doesnt care whether or not it will boot. Yes I have the "correct" roms, and sometimes I am even able to read them back off the cart without any difference to the one I burned on....

just a side thought, I am able to play any gba roms burned with neoflash on the xg2, as long as they dont go far beyond 128mbit, which kind of bothers me about this cart....

anyone... if you have a xgt 2005 512 and gst stuff is working FOR YOU, please, please speak up, I dont want to ship this thing back to china unless I know the cart is NFG...
