Video: Taiko no Tatsujin DS Drum commercial

Coming out in Japan (Taiko no Tatsujin) on July 26th the following video commercial highlights the two drum stick action used in the game with the DS stylus'. Looks like great fun and we can't wait for it to beat its way out of Japan into the rest of the world.

I wonder if this game will sell...? Having to put it on a still surface to play isn't very portable.

Considering that out of the 12 or so various Taiko No Tatsujin games that have come out in Japan we've only gotten 1, it's a safe bet this is not coming out in America

What a waste of time. Who has small enough fingers or hands to enjoy playing with micro drumsticks, bloody stupid idea for a game.

While im on the DS, can any DS fanboys point me in the right direction to find ANY game on the DS that compares to the PSP ??

Ive had my PSP for a couple of years and havnt played it much recently but when i bought a DS for my daughter and loaded as many games as i could into the M3 Simply with MicroSD. I have not seen ONE game yet that i think is even close to any of the games on the PSP.

Ive heard for ages about the DS being a great machine and it has sold millions but i just dont see why ? Unless it is the rampant piracy on the system that helps it sell so well ??

Graphicly? Obviously not. Since youre looking at N64 vs PS2 here. Gameplay? Take your pick, the DS rapes the PSP on the gameplay front time and time again.

while i am looking forward to this game, i can see why people are apprehensive, it not exacly the most ideal type of game for a handheld BUT it will offer the most authentic gameplay next to the arcade or ps2 with drum controller. The PSP version of this is just pointless, pressing buttons to hit the drums..zzzzzz.

Im not sure how well distributed the arcade game is in america, but ive never seen it in the UK, i got the chance to play the full sized arcade machine in Malaysia and its fantastic, heavy wooden sticks booming sound and a huge drum to hit as hard as you can!

Id like to see a version for the Wii, using the GC bongos I expect if they did make one for the wii, they would use the Wii remote and nunchuck as drums, but i would prefer the actual impact of hitting a drum instead of hitting an invisible drum.

what exactly are you looking for? If you want need for speed, tombraider, GTA, fifa and tony hawks then you wont find it on the DS, look at games such as animal crossing, tetris, new SMB, mario kart, picross, FFIII, warioware, brain training and so on, this is the type of game the DS offers, if you dont like those, then you should stick to the psp. They both offer very different games, which is the best thing in the end isnt it? who wants 2 consoles with the exact same games? *cough* ps3/360 *cough*
