First Look: XCM Xbox 360 HDMI 1080p cable for original white Xbox 360
We have managed to score some exclusive information regarding XCM's 360 HDMI 1080p for use with the original white Xbox 360 console. The cable itself is nearly finished and will be completed in approximately 4 weeks and promises to allow 1080p output on a regular white original Xbox 360.

And where do we find this "exclusive information"? Is it only this picture?
What's the point of making a cable that converts analog to digital?

i believe you mean "it will allow 1080p over hdmi" not "it will allow 1080p" since all white originals already output 1080p via its current outputs.

I might be wrong, but I though the original 360, only allows 1080p over VGA and not component. So TV's without VGA inputs would benefit from this. Thing is, are there any 1080p LCD's without VGA ?
Therefore, I have to wonder if there is any point to this cable ?

This Is great news for owners of certain HDTV's(Sony and cetain samsung's)that can only display 1080p signals through HDMI and not component/vga inputs.

The big question is how much will it cost? If it's to much forget about it.

lol i could really use this with my 50" Sony SXRD buuuuuut if its really expensive I will let other people give it a shot first. I held back when the XFPS360 came out and saved $80 oh and I will be sure to ignore MaxConsole's review cuz their review on the XFPS made it sound like a sure thing but boy were they wrong

i do hope the conversion is from vga to hdmi instead of component to hdmi.
otherwise all sd dvd content would not receive upscaling, and hd clips would downscaled to 480p.
quite a nice development if they manage to get done properly. let's see the pricing.
edit : the picture is next to useless.... hmm....what would happen to the optical output? if it's conversion to hdmi then it would make 90% of 360 owners who don't own a hdmi compliant receiver back to the age of stereo only sound.

You are wrong, the problem is most TVs don't accept 1080p over component, and the VGA output at least on my TV, the colors look washed out even with the new settings implemented in the last update. So if this cable will convert the component 1080p signal to HDMI then that would be the benefit of the cable.

Are you saying if you have the component output set to 1080p the 360 doesn't scale properly? I know over component at 1080i DVDs are scaled, why would it be different in the 1080p setting?

No they're not, 360 only upscales if using the VGA cable.

Sorry to break the news to you, but DVDs on component aren't upscaled. Here are the differences between VGA and Component.
VGA
HD DVD - 1080p resolution and all others
DVD - Upscaled as high as 1080p resolution and all others
Games - 720p games upscaled to 1080p, also supports native-1080p games in the future
Component
HD DVD - 1080i resolution maximum, limited by AACS
DVD - Upscaled to 480p maximum, limited by CSS
Games - 720p games upscaled to 1080p, also supports native-1080p games in the future

why are people so fucking obsessed, with the 360 doing the scaling..
FFS,if you have a tv thats capable of 720,1080p or whatever,THE TV CAN DO THE SCALING UP TO ITS NATIVE RESOLUTION.it doesnt matter if the 360 can scale dvds or not,the tv will do it anyway..
