My Multi-Disc switch patches (Parasite Eve, Chrono Cross)

This is the thread for which all my fixes for games that don't allow you to save during the disc change, and will be updated whenever I make a new one.

Parasite Eve PSX for PSP Fix V2 by psychospacefish.

This combines both Parasite Eve discs into a single ISO that will run all the way through.

Place BIN files (use ISObuster or similar) into a folder with the files from this fix. Disc 1 must be named pe1.bin, Disc 2 must be named pe2.bin.
Filesizes must be as follows:

pe1.bin = 495531120 bytes
pe2.bin = 646877616 bytes

Run fix.bat. Final BIN file should be 860MB, turn it into an EBOOT with Popstation.

Chrono Cross NTSC-U Disc Change Fix
-----------------------------------
By Psychospacefish

WARNING: Do not change any part of this kit, or else the game will crash.

1.Make a disc image of Chrono Cross Disc 1 using ISOBuster or CloneCD
2.Name the BIN/IMG file "ccdisc1.bin"
3.Run patch.bat
4.When making EBOOTs, make sure both discs use the same Game ID and Save ID

To change discs:

1.Play game to the point where you enter the Sea of Eden
2.Once you have entered a Fate Distortion, save the game.
3.Load Disc 2 and then load your game.

NOTE: The patch removes disc checking completely from Disc 1, allowing you to load any save from Disc 2.
If you try and play a Disc 2 save on Disc 1 the game will eventually crash or glitch due to it not being
able to find the necessary data. This won't damage your save data or your PSP however.

Nice work on this patch psychospacefish.

Have you considered patching the PAL versions? (MGS especially)

Your patch for Parasite Eve is good for the italian patched parasite eve NTSC too.I've tried this.
Sorry for bad english

la patch per riunire i 2 bin di parasite eve funziona anche con il gioco NTSC patchato in italiano.

Ok, I got the IMG file and I renamed it mgsdisk2.bin but when I run the patch, it keeps saying "Error : cannot open file 'msgdisk2.bin' : No such file or directory" What am I doing wrong?

Does not work?? MGS

I played all the way to the stairs on disc 1 and saved.... I loaded disc 2(with the same game ID, as disc 1 AND the patch ofcourse) walked down the stairs... Then the metal gear logo appears... I says "Press the start button after inserting DISC 2" then i press start... Then it says that I have insert the wrong disc!! Your patch has definetly done something with my disc 2 (normaly it would just say "insert disc 2" But It wont let me play further.....

Whats Wrong?

I'm not entirely sure, what should happen is that when you press start, MGS runs it's disc checking routine and since disc 2 is actually inserted, it will continue. Could you upload your save folder so I can make sure that it's not something that I've overlooked?

okay, i just finished playing thru disc 1, and i saved just before going down the stairs aftering killing sniper wolf. but like allybally, when i loaded disc 2, it says to PRESS START after putting in disc 2, then it says checking, then it says something along the lines of "disc 2 has NOT been insert".

i uploaded my save if you wanna check it out too psychospacefish. heres the link...

Right click your mgsdisc2.bin file (or go to file > properties) and make sure that read only is unchecked. If it's checked it won't work. See if that helps. It worked for me. I had the same problem getting the .bat file to find the file myself.
