Question List of pal games compatible with pro scan - 480p

Thanks to qoob bios pro v1.3, there is a progressive support for pal games.

It could be great to make a compatibility list for pal games.
From what i've read :

Games compatible :
- Mario Kart DD pal
- Mario Party 6 pal
- Resident Evil 4 pal
- Doshin the Giant
- Killer 7 pal
- Micromachines PAL
- Ikaruga PAL
- Wave Race Blue Storm
- Wario Ware Inc. (Strange because i read that the NTSC doesnīt work)
- Resident Evil 0 - 4 (1 flickering!)
- Resident Evil Code Veronica
- Zelda Mega Collection
- Wario World (gfx issues)
- Super Smash Brother Melee
- All Mario Titles
- Eternal Darkness (only on 50 HZ)
- Final Fantasy Chronicles
- Super Monkey Ball 2
- Beach Spikers
- 1080 Avalanche
- Baten Kaitos
- Dragonīs Lair 3D Special Edition
- Sonic Adventure
- Pokemon Box
- Tales of Symphonia
- Donkey Kong Jungle Beat
- Zelda Four Swords
- Paper Mario 2
- StarFox Assault
- StarWars Roque Leader (german pal)
- Pikmin 2
- Gotcha Force
- P.N.03 (flickering!)
- Donkey Konga 1
- Skies of Arcadia
- Bomberman Generation
- Viewtifull Joe 1,2 (both flickering)
- Metroid Prime 1 (50Hz Mode necessary!)
- Need for Speed Underground 2
- Wario world (PAL)
- Animal Crossing (PAL)
- Starfox adventures (PAL)
- Buffy the vampire slayer (PAL)
- Hello Kitty Roller Rescue (PAL)
- Crash Bandicoot The Wrath Of Cortex (PAL)

Games non compatible
- Viewtiful Joe pal
- Resident Evil - Works ok with major flickering at top and bottom of screen making the game near unplayable
- Resident Evil 0 pal (menu and the cut scenes Ok, rest =messed up)
- UK gameboy player boot disc
- Pokemon Colloseum
- Animal Crossing
- Metal Gear Solid The Twin Snakes
- Star Wars Rebel Strike (german pal)
- Pikmin 1
- Metroid Prime 2

I know that games like Re0 or Animal crossing are on the 2 list. It means they have worked in pro scan mode for some people but not for all.

Please complete this list

While the NTSC versions of those games that are compatible according to your list are all progressive scan compatible your non-compatible list is another story.

NTSC Viewtiful Joe has progressive, the other Resident Evil games do not.

But yeah it would be great if somebody would host a list for all the games that work. I thought I read somewhere even a few non native progressive NTSC games work in the forced progressive mode, that would be even more useful if somebody could keep track of those games (if true).

Micromachines PAL works in progressive mode, full screen, no glitches.

Ikaruga PAL works fine full screen -is it just me or is this version FAAAAST? (compared to the DC version)

All using qoob pro 1.3a, on a Q.

@LowrdWPC, I have timesplitters 2, NTSC version and when I promote it to progressive scan I get mash up graphics in the borders but not on the area of gameplay. I just expand the monitor vertically so its not visible and the rest of it looks and runs fine. this is a NTSC game on an NTSC machine. Is that sismialr to the problem you are getting with the PAL resident Evil? (NTSC version doesnt work at all for me)

Progressive scan is a video mode that Older crt type tellys can't display, older crt tellys display an interlaced image, EDTV and HDTV tellys will display the progressive signal which is shown at upto 100 COMPLETE frames in one second. Older crt tellys only display 50 or 60 frames/second displaying half the screen then the rest in the remainder of the second.

The result of the progressive signal is a very clear real life like appearing image with extremely low colour bleed. Whereas the older crt interlaced telly is quite the opposite.

To get this progressive display you have to purchase one off the following

Plasma/lcd/front projection/rear projection based telly system which is either EHTV or HDTV compliant or get a Luxury (17"+) sized pc monitor with the correct adapter.

The onset of progressive capable tellys reminds of the first time I played Ferari xXx on a Dreamcast in RGB display mode compared to the standard av scart connection it appeared so crisp and clear. Well progressive clean and clear kicks the ass of RGB

This is far from the complete story on progressive scan, there are loads of sites doing the complete history and all the techy news on this marvelous new technology which has been about from 1997 and before anyone asked it was Panasonic that launched it comercially with either a 51" or 52" inch plasma display, so if you want the best you now know what to buy.

To identify weither or not your telly can accept a progressive signal check out the link below, it explains and shows pics of what connections to look out for.
