Action replay and backups..

hey guys.
Ive got a problem.
First I must say that I don't know what kind of modchip my fat ps2 has. The only thing I can say is, that I must hit reset once for ps2 games and twice for psx games.
Is there a way to boot backups with codes?
retail games ar running fine with codes, but ar won't boot when I insert an dvd-r /dvd+r media
It says insert a disc insert a disc insert a disc bla.. :8
so does anyone know what to do?

i to have a modchip and it seems like the only way is to use an original copy or use swap magic (original copy) and just put it in instead of ur backup and then swap it for your backup. This is the easiest way to do it. I believe theres a freeware swap magic that can be used that lets u boot multiple games. You can then backup your AR into it and then boot into AR using the multiple game disk and then just leave the disk select your cheats then hit play and it will boot back into the multi game menu and then you can swap ur backup and play the game (this is how i do it but i forgot what program i used since its been so long just search around for the multi game boot up disk).
