New Firmware for DS!
Loopy, Costis, and DarkFader have all teamed up and created a new firmware for the DS.
This one gets rid of the health warning (yay!!!) and makes it so you can boot ds homebrew without a passme from a gba flash card.
However, you must have a passme to register it. But once it is open beta, I doubt you will have to have a passme. Neoflash Killer!!
Right now it is a closed beta, but it seems pretty awesome!
Read about it here

Will any GBA flash cart work with this? Such as X-ROM? Afterall, I'd rather not fork out the amount of money that NeoFlash is said to cost.

Almost any gba flash card that fits will work. The EFA Linker has trouble fiting, but if you push hard enough it will fit and work. I found a gba flash card compat list with the DS a while ago, but I can't remember where. I think X-Rom will work though, I remember reading that.

I just bought and flashed my DS today (yeah I am crazy ! lol) it went well, you just have to be carefull not to switch off the DS while flashing, after the update I've been able to run homebrews from a flash cart without the need of passme or wifime (I've been using wifime to boot flashme) however it doesn't remove the "health and safety" screen (at least not on my DS)
May the scene be with you
Cheers to Dark_Alex/Moonlight, Adrahil, Fanjita, Ryoko_no_usagi, Groepaz, Booster, Cswindle, Joek2100, Tyranid, Nem, MrBrown, psppet, xorloser, tmbinc, every devs from Prometheus, emu_kidid and Shadowsan from GCOS, gcmods operators, every one who supported us, and every devs who I forgot to mention on this signature
Thanks to the pspway.ch staff and users to have come to see me from so far away and give me a psp slim to toy with !

for me, right now anyway, the only reason id flash my DS is to get rid of that DAMNED H&S warning screen, i HATE that screen, with that said i hate the H&S warnings on the GC also.
why the hell does big N put those there? its not like my ps2 xbox or pc have any stupid health warnings on EVERY new game i get.
i think they should put H&S warnings b4 all the damn flash add's i see online, now those thing's really could give me a siezure, of just plain make my head explode.
ok, done ranting, great work on the DS scene ppl, cant wait to see future projects on the DS, now only if some REALLY nice person could leak the RSA encription key..........

The reason you see those warnings on Nintendo's products is because they care about your health alot. Sony, M$, etc, probably not as much.

I have a better idea as to why they put those warnings. I don't know how many of you are old enough to remember the n64 vividly, but I am and I do. Nintendo was sued in a class action by ppl claiming to be injured by using the n64 controller. Yes, thats right, that horrid, uncomfortable, un-ergonamic, painful controller. Well, Nintendo settled it, and part of the settlement was that they had to issue free of charge, a glove for the user to wear while using the controller to compensate for the awkwardness of using it. My guess would be that they want to cover their asses so in case they get sued again they are covered.

I remember the NES days, when you didn't have retarded law suits. If you hurt yourself using a game controller (wtf?) that's your fault. If you don't like it/can't stand it, don't fucking play. Seriously that is retarded and that would make sense as to why they put the warnings in their games, to cover their asses.

Yup. Didn't say I agreed with it, just stating the facts. MS and Sony have never been sued over comfort and ergonamics so they have no reason to give warnings. Nintendo has, so they do.

Actually they do have a reason to. They should see what happened to Nintendo and realize that they should protect themselves as well. It would be the smart thing to do.
