Drive Wont Eject ?

Got my mates Wii here in front of me, bad install so I have it here to repair.

On turning on the console, the blue light flashes once and nothing happens.

The disc thats in the wii (was in when it was given to me) doesnt eject, as I say the light comes on then nothing.

The chip is now completely removed and it still wont eject. The machine boots to the part where you press A to get to the main menu, but the wii-mote doesnt seem to register when I press A either.

I have tried shorting the fuse (most common issue when drive not ejecting) but this didnt help either.

Anyone help ? Chip used was a wiikey.

It does indeed sound like a blown fuse issue.
Does the drive make any noise when you turn on the wii? If so, that's a good sign. I had a somewhat similar problem, and it got better when I fully assembled the wiidrive again (i.e. reattach it to the wii and screw in the security screws.

If not, it's also possible that it's just a short. Make sure there are no bridges between any points.

As for the wiimote not responding, this may sound dumb, but did you try to resynch the wiimote and wii? And not to sound dumber, but I hope you remembered to plug the sensor bar back in (... i forgot to do that once ).

I'm afraid that's all I can think of. Sorry, but I'm honestly not the ideal guy to troubleshoot your problem.

The same thing happend to my wii, still havent found a solution. The best thing for me is sunday i will buy another and just swap the cases then return it back for my money. I know, I know, but im not going to spend another 250 so i will just swap it out.

I had a similar problem after a long and painful Cyclowiz repair for a customer. Re-seated the ribbon cable and all was well. You might want to check if the cables are connected to the motherboard of the Wii, which will require a bit more disassembly than normal.
