What kind of dvd drive is my replacement wii? Serial # ....

I just got my advanced replacement system in the mail and the serial # is LU511....

Its not even listed on:

http://www.hackmiiwii.com/2007/02/12...compatibility/

I have a USA wii and hoped to use wiifree or openwii or wiiskas (something with the F6129 pic (got the # wrong)...

Who cares? It's probably a D2B, but every chip out there is compatible with both, so it doesn't even matter.

I'm thinking about doing the replacement plan, but just wondering, is it possible to send in an already-open Wii back to Nintendo? Is that allowed? And do you get to keep the replacement system or is it some sort of placeholder while the old Wii gets replaced?

Its not allowed, but some people say they do not notice. My wii was not modded. The advanced replacement plan is they send you a wii console and then you put your old one in the box w/ the prepaid label and send it back.

If they don't get your old one they charge your credit card. This way you are never without a wii console. The other way is you ship your wii in and they fix it.

What is wrong with yours? Mine had pixelation (black artifacts) from having wiiconnect24 on while in standby. Idk if I am going to mod this wii...I just got it

Who told you that? They're designed to be in standby with wiiconnect24 on!

Alot of people have the problem.

http://forums.nintendo.com/nintendo/...ssage.id=33963

It hasn't been proven, but it makes since and whenever I had my wii on standby it got really hot. When I knew I was getting a new one I put it on standby and it got worse. If I took wiiconnect24 off during standby, the problem wouldnt worsen.

There's a lot of problems with my Wii right now from soldering (broken off pads, dvd drive acting weird, cyclowiz solid then flashing). Hopefully I can fix it though..
