HOWEVER, any other backup game i insert either is not recognized in the wii channels menue at all or shows me the DRE error directly after the safety instructions when starting the game.
wtf am i doing wrong? i made lots of investments so far (new dvd-r, new dvd writer, second wiikey and install) and it is really pissing me off that nothing works. but at least i know the wiikey is working and recognizes MOST of my backup dvd's although they cause DREs during the game.
originals work fine btw.
please, i urgently need advice
p.s.: for writing i use nero 7.5.7 and IMGBurn, tried both programs @ 2x 4x 8x and 16x, but NADA

Maybe you have a wii drive that just does work well with burned media.
You don't mention if you tried DVD+R set at dvd-rom if you get DRE's

1. open your Wii check the chip for link/cross wire/whatever screw up you happen to do. i suggest you go buy/steal* (not literally) a multimeter for this job. (stole my friend mm, and never give it back suckers... j/k)
2. if 1 = okay, check your DVD image, make sure it is 4,589,824 KB size, or 4,699,979,776 Bytes. 1 more or less = bad image. do your backup again, until you get the exact size.
3. if 1+2 = okay, check your media. GO BUY QUALITY MEDIA. hrmph... okay i highly suggest TYG02 type media for this type of job, oh hell it is good for everything. TYG02 is the cheapest out of TYG line, compare to TYG05 etc. DVDr- or DVDr+ doesn't make a difference. they are the same for Wii.
if all failed, i doubt it tho, then it is a modchip problem. get an RMA from the retailer, and hopefully you can get another one for free or free with shipping cost.

Umm Verbatim media is GOOD. My YUDENT0002 on the other hand that was burnt at 8x or 12x would start stuttering in the Call of Duty 3 intro video. I switched to Verbatim 16x DVD-R and everything worked perfectly.
On a side note, one time, when I placed SD Gundam Scad Hammers at the Wii menu, it gave me a DRE, but when I restarted, it worked perfectly. Should I be worried?

Make sure you close all open apps (browser, antivirus etc) before burning. Leave your PC alone while it is burning i.e. no surfing etc.
Make sure your burner is running in DMA-MODE 4. PIO or even DMA MODE 2 might give you issues.
