Labels on Disks

Anyone put labels on their disks? If so, any problems?

I would like to print off the art on the games and put the full size label on the DVD. When I did this before with video dvds, they would not play in my car dvd player due to the additional thickness added to the disk.

Are their any problems here?

i always print on my disc's and have never had a problem

I was thinking the same myself. Was going to try it and see.

never had a problem with just writing the title on the disc and they definitely never stick in the drive.

It would be interesting to know if there is actually an issue with this. I remember back in the PS1 days that labels on CDs used to create DRE's and in a prolonged period of time effect the CD drive. Granted all CD drives eventually went bad on the PS1.

I wonder if this is just a carried over fear.

I found that full-sized labels work fine on my Wii backups. Since i'm paranoid, I compared originals with labeled backups by timing load times and listening to the disk drive for any problems... The originals and thier backups seem to be identical.

Based on other consoles, results could possibly vary. Some people can't use labels on PS2 and 360 backups, while others can... i'm sure Wii will be the same case. Since labels have different thickness and smoothness, i'm sure it also depends on the labels you use as well.

It won't hurt to just test it out by labeling one backup first. You have nothing to lose except one dvd and a label, both of which only cost a few cents.

I don't backup or copy Wii games, but I don't use labels, I use printable DVDs and CD and a printer.

Printable DVD's are the way forward - in combination with my Canon 4300 printer.

The ridisk dvd's i got cost me about £7 for 50 so theyre no dearer than other decent dvd's

Stick on glue labels are very bad, i work in an electronic repair shop and alot of problems stem from these, whether it be the ink gums up the roller so the discs dont eject propperly to the glue comming off under weird conditions all over the spindel motor or inside the drive, i have also seen the whole top reflective part come off in a machine. or even flake and buble.


i would advise against it, but hey, aint my wii


i use a marker, i suggest print the lables and put them on the case

I just bought a new stand alone HP multidrive with lightscribe. Not tried it out yet tho !!!

yea all it does is burn an image onto the front of the disk .. you need special DVDs though that are compatible they are usually more expensive

you have to use lightscribe media to burn lightscribe label

I have been searching, i noticed that ccovers have a limited supply?

but where else can you find wii labels and fronts?
