My Rant on Chip Debates

Hi All,

I am sorry, because this will offend some people. But I can't understand this scene for the life of me and I have to rant.

I wonder how many people on the internet have insecurity problems, because the argueements about the various Wii Chips are rediculous. It's not bad enough that people have to argue Nintendo vs. Sony vs. Microsoft, but now they have to argue which chip is best for the Wii. Who gives a sh!t. Does it play your games? It does? good.

I read a post about the shitty feature of the WiiKey for not supporting streaming audio on GC. If there are only 6 games that have streaming audio, out of hundreds and hundreds, then they are not compatible. Does that make it that big of a deal?

I take it that this person wanted to feel like they are the better person because the selected the Cyclowiz over the WiiKey. So he disregarded all the shitty things about the Cyclowiz. It was all to make himself feel like he made a smart decission and that he is better for owning one chip over another. This is one of multiple multiple examples both with the Wiikey and Cyclowiz owners.

In my book, everyone who paid for a chip is stupid. You can make them for a couple of bucks yourself now. I am included in that stupid category, as I am lazy. But the fact still remains that arguing this useless topic is only going to bring the wii community further apart.

Just because you own a WiiKey chipped Wii doesn't make you any better then if you own a Cyclowiz chipped Wii. In that matter, owning a Wii doesn't make you any smarter then someone who owns a PS3 or XBOX360. Your all the same, a damm gamer. You just prefer something else. Everything in the world has it's good and bad points. If you harp on the bad then everything sucks except what you own. There will never be a better, especially if they do the same sh!t.

If you need to make yourself feel better for buying a Cyclowiz over a Wiikey or vice versa, then congratulations you are the best. Daddy loves you for being so smart. Grow the f-ck up.

I use to be short bus bus monitor, but I fell and hit my head too many times. They gave me a helmet and a wheel chair. I am pissed cause South Park stole my character. Timmy is not even m name.

I enjoyed the other chip rant much better then this one...

Seriously though, I agree with what you say.

All of the current chips are good enough. They all play backups and work pretty good so the arguments are pretty much moot at this point. I don't care what chip you have or what you think is the best. Lets all just play some games.

I'd like to see the threads formated like this:

Instead of like this:

Your chip sucks

My chip is awesome

I'd like to see the whole Wii mod scene go like the xbox scene

buy what ever chip ya like, and then flash it with bios you bloody want

I mean if the chips use most of the same 5 wire locations wtf can't there be some universal bios's FFS

you would still have the wiikey/cyclowiz with a few extra whistles on them and allow bios updates via disc

and the pic programmers out there can use the main features of the bios too

Evox made their bios's for anyone and usually they were the leaders in cracking the xbox & though Team Xecuter made mods their bios's could be used on most mods - later Xecuter bios's were 512mb as opposed to the usual 256mb - but still universal if ya flashrom was big enough

And with all this people still bought Xecuter mod's and any old cheaper aladdin or Duo-x mods for their xbox (and flashed their TSOP too)

Modchips mean very little - it is the bios that makes them tick and I would like to see a range of bios options for all Wii owners
