Is this normal for the WiiKey?
Hi All,
Just installed the WiiKey last night, and I am playing around with it today. I was just curious if this is normal.
If I am playing a game, and decide to exit out of a game and go into another game, the second game I go into will not load. I have to reset the Wii, and then that game will work perfectly fine the next time around.
So let me clarify. I play a game. Exit the game, and go to the Wii menu. I eject the game. I put in another game. I click on the game and begin to start it. The game does not load. I reset the Wii. I click on the game again, and the game works.
So just curious if this happens to everyone.
Thanks,

are you sure you didn't buy a clone?
if you're sure its not a clone, did you solder it correctly? thats a pretty weird thing to happen.

I have almost the same problem, but i have to power down the console for 15 minutes before it will load any backups.
Verry annoying
and I am sure I don't have a clone since I bought it from an official wiikey reseller as mentioned on wiikey.cn (I also had it installed there so solder should be good)
Could the topic starter try something out for me please? On top of the problem above I can not load a few backups after eachother even without playing them. (so insert backup eject insert new one wont load either)
sorry for my bad english

I have tried that, I get the same problem. I don't have to reset for 15 minutes thankfully. One quick Wii shutdown solves the issue.
Also, I got this from Foundmy which is an official reseller. All my solder should be fine. If it wasn't it would all be DRE's. This is not even a DRE. This is just a blank black screen.
If this helps. I am using a Pioneer 110D DVD Burner, with Memorex (Ritek Media) being burned with IMGBurn. Like I said, I doubt that has anything to do with it, but ya never know.

i have the same burner that you have, try Maxell media, memorex is not so good. Or try taiyo yuden. i hope its the memorex discs that are messed up and not the mod/console itself.
I burn at 8x

ah so only your screen will go black but your 2nd game will show up in the menu? With me it wont even show up and give the message that the wii cant read the disc like there is no chip in it.
I dont think its a disc/burn error since it works perfectly after the 15min wait (evenso i tried pleomax 8x dvd-R and also verbatims on 2 different burners. I always burn 4x)

Yeah,
In the Wii Menu, I will see the second game I put in. I can click on the menu to get to the next screen. I get to the next screen, hit the button to play the next game, and then it goes to load. Then I get a black screen. I haven't let it sit for very long. But I figure on a straight reboot it starts all the way, so it must be hanging especially after 1 minute.
Also, I don't think it is a disc burn issue. It all works for me. Well, the only thing I could think of, is that I burn the disc with imgburn at auto speed. This means sometimes its a slower burn, sometimes its quicker.
I will try my next 2 burns with a 8x. See if that will do the trick.

are you using dvd+r or dvd-r?
if you're using dvd+r Turn off the DVD-ROM bitsetting for +R media.
