Dead Drive... Cyclowiz Update 3.0

This is from a post in the "results" thread so i'll just copy and paste that first...

Wii D2A

Cyclowiz V1.

It got stuck in the programming loop, so i turned off the wii.... turned it back on and now it wont even accept discs, much less read them.

I tried leaving it unplugged for 10 seconds... more like 20.

Plugged it back in, turned it back on... still wont grab a disc.

What the hell happened?!

I have been really patient and told people to calm down and just wait for the update and now my Wii is fuquored. ahhhhhhh.

***I had my soldering done by a guy that knows his stuff pretty well too... it has been working perfectly this whole time until the update.

Has this happened to other people? Where the drive just seems to completely die?
Now, is it possible that just the Cyclowiz chip is just fried and i will be able to remove it and my system will be ok? Or do you guys think my Drive's fuse is just now shot, or what...?

Just wanted to put this more out in the open so maybe people with experience with this might see it and be able to give me some advice prior to me getting home later today or tomorrow and cracking the system open

Help?

And, has anyone figured out exactly the type of fuse to replace the burnt one with?

I'm not gonna be able to crack it open till tomorrow...

I'm not sure if anyone has actually replaced the fuse, but I've heard that simply briding across it with a wire works.

But remember that the fuse got fried for a reason. If it happens again with nothing but a wire there, it could end up being a lot worse.

There is already a thread for the fuse. Just bridge it.
