07.03.20] Clones report and upgrade news
It came to our attention that there are clones of the wiikey chip in circulation. There are already different versions of clones. The best way to identify a clone is to check the IC printing removal. We made a small survey to identfy the clones, please click here.
You can find the most outrageous cloners at
www.wiikey.com.cn - they are in no way affiliated with the original wiikey team.
Many clones do not work properly and do not surpass the same quality checks as the original wiikey. Some clones already fail when booting the upgrade discs. It is very doubtful that they will work with original wiikey future upgrades - in fact the wiikey team will put all efforts into making the disc upgrades incompatible with any kind of clones. There are also clones that get defect after a few days of operating time. The improvement of the config disc and the development of software upgrades is only guaranteed when using an original wiikey. Our RMA policy is not valid for clones. If you are not sure if you bought a clone or not just contact us - we will help you to identify it.
Support the origin development and the future compatability.
A new version of our bootable config disc will be available soon. It will for the first time feature our disc dumper, which can be used with a simple sdcard adapter. On top of that we included some of the most popular gamecube homebrew apps! And yes, the first firmware update is already being worked on. Stay tuned!
