2.71 (ta-082 and ta-086) Downgrader {Release} Corruption free ~

Changing Idstorage and Downgrading always runs the risk something goes wrong and bricks your psp. Use of these files , requires that you accept those risk, and understand you do so at your own risk.


Release notes

The files here were designed to downgrade a 2.71 ta-082, or ta-086. The included 1.5 Enabler is the latest as of 03/11/07. 1.5 enabler does NOT corrupt any keys other then necessary to run the 1.5 FW. It is also easily reversed if you choose not to run Custom Firmware any more. (This requires another file just to keep it safe for the newbies) The source files for 1.5 enabler are included.

PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PSP CHARGER IN AT ALL TIMES!
Remove umd before downgrading.

Donot power off During downgrade!

Donot use fake memory cards to downgrade or upgrade see link below to identify fakes.

Note: If at some point your screen goes black for more then a few seconds Hit the brightness key gently a few times. Be careful not to bump the power or other buttons. In some cases the brightness goes to off.

1. Before you start, format your memory stick and reset your default settings.
A. Format MS by going to System , Format Memory Stick. press X
B. Push down to restore Factory Settings

2.Create a USB connection between your PSP and computer.

3. A. Download the official Sony 1.50 eboot and rename it to UPDATE.PBP, B. Put it in the MSroot/PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder of this download with the name of UPDATE.PBP

4.Copy the contents of the MS_root folder to your memory stick root, click yes to overwrite. Do not put the readme on the psp.

5. Run HEN-D if you are not already running it.
Simply goto photo and try to display rand. The psp should very briefly display a green screen. If it displays a red screen try again. Once you get a green screen proceed. (note rebooting your psp deactivates hend)

6. Execute the 1.5 enabler on the PSP. It needs 75% battery. It will verify/make your psp able to run 1.5 and enable downgrading the TA-082 or TA-086 PSP.
**note 1.5 enabler will tell you if you can run 1.5 or not... if it says you cannot press x to alter keys, donot continue till it says your settings will run 1.5

7. The program will exit to the XMB. Now run the generic downgrade, which will show in the XMB as “Update X.Yz” on the PSP.

8. The generic downgrader will also need 75% battery. IT will downgrade your PSP to 1.50.

9. At the end, it will ask you to press X to restart the PSP. Do it.

10. If all went fine, you’ll receive a blue screen telling you to press O. Do it, and re-enter your settings. Welcome to 1.50.

What's the only key modified by this to enable 1.5 IPL
as against(compared) to the original DA/Mathieulh 2.71 Downgrader ?

Out of topic: How Do we(2.71 tA-o82 DG users) fix all corruptions and use this again... So that all keys are perfect except for the one need to run 1.5

Does this fix the reversed brightness prob?

the brightness problem has nothing to do with idstorage i think after reading what fanjita write. its just that hardwar when on a 1.5 it seems to have a problem one you go to OE its back to normal.

I had a 1.50 with the brightness problem... then I went to 3.03 OE-C and I still have the same bug... look at my sig.. it says 3.03 OE-C

This is ONLY a downgrader to replace the 2.71 downgrader. This is not the idstorage fixer... This is for the new people So they dont have to fix it. All of the documentation is availble in the idstorage threads here on what is changed.

Basically it changes 2 bits in the key responsible for bricking psp on 1.5 ipl.

This can be reversed but for safty sake this can only ENable 1.5 .

repeat this is ONLY for people with 2.71 ta-082 or ta-086 , who wish to downgrade to 1.5

This is not the fix for people who ran the previous 2.71 idchangers.

Would you mind suggesting one to fix, becoz i couldn't find the threads...
1 More thing, on critical(1%-2%) battery(not low battery -- power lights blinking), it doesn't suspend, instead TURNS OFF, is that normal?

no thats not normal... fixing idstorage "should" fix that.



Its in the idstorage thread. ( fixxer for those who previously ran idchanger)

Unfortunately the changes made by the previous idchangers, delete one of the keys by backing up a key on top of it. So for people who ran the previous idchangers,, 100 % restoration is IMPOSSIBLE,, though the apps released by Chilly will fix all noticable effects of the previous Idchanger. To my knowledge noone has figured out what the key that was deleted does if any thing. This is a good thing because we fixed all issues idstorage related, with out restoring the key that was lost.

I will also add the fix for =us who ran idchanger ,, is to run "idresetv7" or "idcopy" , But again read the idstorage thread so you have an idea what your doing. Running 1.5 enabler will not restore your psp 100%,, there will always be one missing key. But it wont effect operation ( that ANY one has noticed).

The IdStorageChanger app in the original downgrader alters keys 0x43, 0x42, 0x41, 6, 5, 4, 0x46, 0x45, and 0x47.

The 1.5 Enabler in the new downgrader package changes one byte of key 5.

3.03 OE still uses the 1.50 kernel

ummm... this is a fixer and "virgin" idstorage i released a bit ago.
