Amazing LED Support

Hey, are you a newb like me and just want to solder LED's on points and have them work? Well, hate to brake it to you but it just doesnt work like that. What I'm getting at is I found a resource to make LED mod's just that easy. Check out http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz . All you do is put in the circuit's voltage (easily found with a multimeter), enter in the LED forward voltage and current (found on the package), and the number of LED's and It will display it as either an ASCII representation, schematic, or wiring diagram (easiest if you're a newb). It will then show you how the circuit would best be set up, whether you need a 1/4 watt or 1/2 watt resistor, and what ohm rating it should have. It can even display the color code for the resistor you need as an option. Along with this wizard, I recommend Radioshack #271-312, a bulk 500 pack of 1/4 watt resistors with a great sellection of hard to find resistors for about $12 USD (about 3 cents USD per resistor). I also recommend Radioshack #271-306, a bulk 100 pack of 1/2 watt resistors with a great sellection of hard to find resistors also for about $6 USD (about 5 cents USD per resistor). So check out these links and I hope they help you out. Thanks!

er.... I am a newbie, kind of... my only circuit/electrical experience is from gr 12 high school.

But what I do know is that, the 3mm LEDs i bought take in 3V and I found a 3V point and a ground point, so I didn't have any resisters on my controller port mod.

But ya, I think I might burn out the LEDs after a while if i don't have any resistors.. can anyone bring some insight?
