A closer look at the Two Wii DVD Drive Controllers causing Wiinja problems
And here is a look at BOTH of the different Wii DVD Controllers which are reportedly causing problems for Wiinja owners. The Ninja team has stated that this is an ISOLATED incident regarding their mod, but Anarchiest of the MC Forums says owners on IRC are claiming otherwise.

the original picture was a little clearer. But text on the chips says...
Panasonic
GC2-DMS
and
blank
GC2-D2B
Panasonic is the one people are confirming working, can't see the model # in the install pictures from wiinja or cyclowiz, so for now we dont know 100% for sure...

and why is that, because TPTB are pushing the CycloWiz chip which uses the same PIC code?
if one has a problems so will the other. But at this point it is only ONE guy who has only connected 3 wires who has a problem

Don't talk crap unless you try both of em and by the way what makes you or anyone else think that the other modchip will work with the newer Wii DVD Controller chip.
They should both be tested side by side not just one of them PERIOD. I think enough bashing has been done already. I feel like im back in public school my mom makes a better peanut butter sandwich then yours.

well i pre-ordered my cyclowiz last week, so i'll find out soon enough if it has the same issues. I think my wii is probably not affected since it's pretty close to a launch wii, but i won't know til i get my mod installed.

Lets try to keep things factual. People are talking about it on IRC just as some of us are in fourms. There are 2 known controllers onley one guy suspeced that the newer controller may be the problem with his failed mod install. If nintendo wanted to disable this mod on furture machines all they would have to do is ether disable the serial port, just change the password, or alter a command. All current modchips access the drive in the same way useing the serial port so if one dose not work on a paticular drive controller chances are none will.
its ez to check if serial access is still the same, simpley hook your "new" drive controller drive up to a computer and see if it still works, if it dose there is a good chance both mods still work
there is no real info saying anything ether way at this time

Totally dude. The 1 dollar chip is totally worth the 60x markup. Good point.
