Will the Wii have problems with DRE, too ?

The most annoying thing with the GC was, that a lot of media produced a so called DRE (disc read error). That happened without any warning and it seemed that the drive had no error correction nor did any read retries.
Will the same problem appear on the Wii ? Maybe someone who already got one of the chips can give some information about that ?

Hopefully not the same like the GC. when using standard size disc, you have a more better choices with media then those mimi dvdr and hopefully there will be a brand of media that the Wii drive fall in love to end the DRE cr*p.

Never had a DRE on a GC

I had a GC with a Qoob Pro and never had a DRE.. I always used full sized Ritek G04/5 or 8x Taiyo Yuden discs.. and always burned them at 2x. I think its mostly about how you burn it(and not buying the cheapest discs you can find).
