I don't know much about that since I don't have a PS2. But I know you need some sort of a modchip, Divineo.cn have lots of them. Search this forum for more on how to do it.

How to run Homebrew without ever opeing your PS2

Hello, You may not know it but, you can run all PS2 HomeBrew Applications on a completely un-modded PS2. It is actually very simple and is by far easier than installing a mod-chip. I am an experienced mod-chip installer, however I find that it is better and easier to run HomeBrew with an un-moddified PS2. Mod-chips can cause your PS2 to malfunction and if you are not careful and you don't know what you are doing then you could ruin your PS2 very easily by trying to install the modchip yourself.

So how do you run PS2 homebrew without ever opening your PS2 console? That is a good question now isn't it? Well it is very easy and you do not have to be a guru by any means. All you need is a PS2 with a network adapter and a hard drive for your PS2, an Original PSX game, and one 8MB PPS2 memory card with at least 4MB free. You can get the network adapter from ebay and you can most standard IDE harddrive, but you should always use a Maxtor preferably the 80 GB Maxtor IDE harddrive.

You connect the Hard drive to the Network Adapter and then you install the network adapter to the back of your PS2 after you remove the "EXPANSION BAY" cover. Make sure that you tighten the two screw on the network adapter after you have connected it to your PS2.

Now we are ready to build a PS2 memory card exploit. What is memory card exploit? This allows you to boot PS2 Applications from your memory card. You need to get a TITLE.DB creator, search Google. Now get the latest version of Ulaunch Elf, again search google. I am currently in the process of building my own PS2 Homebrew Apps site that will have all of the tools to get your started along with a huge E-book that contains all of my modding and PS2 Apps knowledge, how to use emulators and where to get roms, making your NES, SNES, GENESIS, N64, PSX, and PS2 controllers hook up to your PC so you can use them with the emulators.

Any ways let me get back to running homebrew, now at this point you should have a PS2 with a network adapter and a hard drive connected to it, one PS2 Memory Card with at least 4MB of space, a TITLE.DB creator, and a copy of UlaunchElf.

I should have my site up within a few days, I will post the link here as soon as it is live and running.

This exploit method only works on the older "chubby" PS2's, not the newer slim ones.

Slim PS2 Hombrew

Yes you are correct, Sony fixed the Slim PS2's so they will not work with a memory card exploit. However you can play homebrew on your Slim PS2 also without modding it. All you need is the ARMAX CD and the ARMAX 16Mb Flash stick called an AR Dongle. You simply put your homebrew on your AR dongle and then boot your slim PS2 with the AR MAX CD. Go to Media Player, insert your AR dongle with your homebrew on it into your PS2. Select your homebrew in the media player and press X to launch it. Now not all apps work, but some do so play arround with it.
