Non solder install of mod chip possible??

Is it possible to install a cyclowiz mod chip without having to solder it to the wii??

I was thinking of 2 possibilities:

1. Solder wires to the chip then tape the wires in the appropriate spot on the disk drive. I have seen patch wires taped to commerical PCB's what sort of tape is best and what sort of longevity can I expect?

2. Fill the easy solder holes in the cyclowiz with solder then bluetack or similar the chip in place??

I really don't feel confident soldering the Wii PCB while the console is still hard to get hold of - are there any alternatives??

Thanks in advance.

learn better soldering...

Tape is might work for a little while but is not a viable long term solution.

Check out these resources:

and practice soldering on some old electronics.

well if you were to hotglue the chip in place by the sides then use conductive ink to make the connections it could work but I dont think it would be a good idea. If your arfraid to install it there are people that will do it for you, my price is $35 shipped btw
