Method found to Dump Wii Discs - Takes FIFTY HOURS!

A method for copying Wii discs has been found via the use of LG-8164b or LG-8163b DVD-ROM drives. Via running an app called DVDInfo, read access to the disc is collected and via the use of some rawdump access a Wii disc can be backed up in as little as FIFTY hours .

Well at least it's been done. Things seem to be moving along quite nicley for the Wii owners, though I still can't seem to decide wich next gen console to get.

As far as I know you just have to disable some kind of check in your DVD Drive Firmware and then you can rip the Wii disc and unscramble it with unscrambler 0.4: ( out of code/readme -> unscramble not standard IVs scrambled DVDs thru bruteforce, intended for Gamecube/WII Optical Disks. )

No need for some kind of long run degub code dump method, imo
IF you cant live on love alone it isnt love.

What "check" is that? This is the same method that was used by the guys who made the unscrambler software so if you know a faster way then please let us know.

Does that mean the backed up copy of the game can then be played on the Wii?

No I think without hardware modification it wont be possible but the wii is similar to the gc and the drive key has also been extracted it was the same key as on the gc drive but in lower case lol
