First Ever Wii Game Backup Mod Revealed!

Team Ninja has reportedly the first ever Wii modchip up their sleeves. The 5 wire modification will play Wii and GC backups of the SAME region, and is expected to retail for around 35 euro's. As you can see from the pictures below, its a simple looking mod and should be easy to install.

i wouldnt be so quick to jump on the first modchip. Being that nintendo can now do updates via the internet, it is a good possibility this chip can be rendered useless very quickly.

Those solder points don't look super small. Very doable. =)

The mod chip will only work within 1 region... I guess we'll need someone to make an ISO converter for that.

It's not one region, it's the SAME region as the Wii it's installed in. Basically it works like the FW mods for the 360. It's not really doing anything but allowing the system to run backups.

wonder how easy the isos will be to burn tho - 360's can be a bit tricky (still no decent way using a Mac)...

There can be two regions on a single Wii? I thought that the Wii only had one region. Wow you're smart. Please posts links to this information.

Also, are you saying that converting a Wii game's ISO region isn't possible then? It was with the PSX, PS2, Saturn, Xbox....

Post popped out like a ninja

yea... I'd like hear more about flashable features of the chip, in case nintendo sends an update to kill it.
