The cancelled Halo DS Project - It was Playable
A reputable IGN blogger has spilled the beans on a cancelled Halo DS project. According to the blogger, Halo was in the pipeline in the DS but was cancelled due to a conflict of interests. He even claims that he got a play on an early build and it was like Metroid Prime Hunters but with a Halo facelift.
Quote:
Amazingly, the ill-fated DS version of the title plays remarkably well. Think Metroid Prime Hunters but with a Halo facelift. I had the opportunity to run through the beginning beach area and noted while playing that it looked like Xbox Halo except on DS, it was running fast, and the control was responsive. The trademark Halo music even played out of the tiny speakers of Nintendo's handheld. It is really, truly a damned shame that certain publishers couldn't make this happen because it would have undoubtedly been a huge hit and would have only furthered the popularity of DS and the Halo franchise.
Now that DS is enjoying a clear lead over PSP and the Halo franchise is bigger than ever, I'd like to see this game-that-could-have-been actually come to exist on the retail market. It's too good of an idea and the execution is too impressive to let it collect dust in the forgotten cabinet of a publisher's vaporware library.

He may have played it somewhere, I but I highly doubt his claim of the game being leaked. If that was the case we'd have seen it doing the rounds.

Yeah it would have been a Gay marriage made an Gay Haven!
The Gayest Egoshooter on the Gayest (save the Peto-Pink™ PSP™) System ever!
Why G(H)aylo should enjoy as much suscess as it does is truly most disturbing!
Looking back at It, the wost mistake I ever did was to choose the Failbox and by Proxy G(H)alo over the PS2.
I mean let Nintendo make there own Third-rate Doom rip-off like any, and everyone else, iIt's hardly Rocket-science.
Personaly I wish the whole Genre would suffer a direct Headshot! and die.
I'm sick of playing the same damned Game(s), over, and over again for 10 years stright!
Your cast of Characters (Sarge, Mastercheif, Gorden or the mighty Duke himself!), may change but the basic Gameplay remains and, you'd think someone would have noticed this by now!

I think that Halo will remain an exclusive Xbox.
