popstation - GUIDE [How to]

This is my little guide for popstation... ill try to update it if need be.

- Step 1 -

Download the new 3.02 OE-B file with popstation here:

http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/978

Extract the files, and drag the folder "popstation" to your desktop.

- Step 2 -

Have the following files in "popstation" folder you dragged to your desktop:

- popstation.exe (defualt--should already be in this folder)

- KEYS.bin (found in hot shot golf 2 psx - px1* game folder... you can download the game file at any where you can find it)

- BASE.PBP (you get this file by copying the hot shot golf 2 EBOOT.PBP and renaming it BASE.PBP and placing it in your "popstaton" folder)

- PSXgame.iso or PSXgame.bin (rip your psp game into either iso or bin and place it into the "popstation" folder)
I would recommend you rip your PSX game with ultraISO and not anything else (especially not MagicISO)!!!

*note*
- Ignore the "document.DAT" file found in the Hot shots golf 2 game folder, because you do not need it.

- Step 3 -

- Make sure you have the latest cygwin1.dll file on your comp. If you don't have the latest or don't have it at all or don't know what it is, then download the latest version from here:

http://rapidshare.com/files/8941477/cygwin1.zip.html

- Extract the file, and put it in your c:/Windows/system32 folder.

- Step 4 -

- Once you have all the files above, and want to start converting your psx game into a psp game (first make sure you have the psx iso/bin inside your popstation folder):

1 - Goto Start (on your windows)
2 - Click on Run
3 - Type in "cmd" in dialoge box (with out quotes)
4 - Now make sure you put your popstation folder on your desktop or this won't work!
5 - Type "cd desktop\popstation" in the command line and press enter (with out quotes)
6 - Then type "popstation.exe gamename.iso" and press enter (with out quotes, and replace "gamename" with the name of your psx file. also make sure you have the right extention...so if it's iso put iso at the end, and if it's bin then put bin at the end)

- Step 5 -

- You will now see some new lines on your command prompt, just wait untill it says done (this might take alittle while depending on your computer), and close the window.

- Now you will have a new file in your "popstation" folder called EBOOT.PBP. Just copy that file and KEY.BIN file from the popstation folder into the root of your memory stick (which is PSP>GAME>SCUSXXXXX.... replace XXXXX with any numbers, and if you don't have a folder like that, then make one under GAME)

- Final Step -

- Open your PSP, go to game>memory stick, and click on the hot shot golf 2 logo.

ENJOY :>

wnk~

the link u posted is a torrent site, while ps-hack is not a torrent site, its a site where u can find firmwares (not dumped ones, but official sony updates), emus and other homebrews apps, well anything that is not copyrighted or illegal..so if i was you, i would remove that link before a mod will ban u very badly...links to torrent sites is prohibited on maxconsole

np. don't want to break any rules so link was removed.

@Amin_Strife: make sure you follow the guide step by step becuase you are suppose to put the "popstation" folder on your desktop for any thing else to work.

as far as the command window, you did everything right. but i haven't worked with .img files yet so I can't help you with any problems you might occur, except to tell you to convert .img to .bin and try again.

MGS is working fine.

I was just concerned about that error with a DLL. I have it installed in the right place(s) [people are saying different places, I have mine in \system32.].

have you read the guide? it says you have to download hot shots golf 2 psx - psp, and it will have the files you need (just rename the EBOOT.PBP file inside hotshots golf 2 psx - psp to BASE.PBP). As to where to download it, forum rules specify i can't give you a direct link.

However, just search "hot shots golf 2 psp" on any good bittorrent search website and you will find it.
