Yes devhook0.4x and 0.51 for 2.71 can be on the same memory stick ^^ so you can emulate 1.5 and 3.01. Enjoy ^^

ok i finally did it. I tried with firmware 3.02 JP and it just kept restarting on the Sony Video though.

3.01 works fine. Thanks for your help.

Things you need:

A memory stick (probably larger than 32 MB)
A USB Cable or other means to transfer files to the PSP
These downloads:

Once you have all the files perform the next STEPS!!!!

I DO RECOMEND TO FORMAT YOUR MEMSTICK !!!

1. Install Win RAR (on PC)

2. Install PSP Brew v.091 (on PC)

3. Connect your PSP to yor PC using a USB cable.

4. Open up PSARDumper_300.zip Extract both folders to X:PSPGAME (where X is your PSP's drive letter).

5. Extract the 2.82/3.01 Eboot WinZip file to anywhere on your hard drive.

6. Using PSP Brew, open the 2.82/3.01 Update Eboot (either double click it, or open through PSP Brew)

7. Extract the DATA.PSAR by clicking it, and then clicking extract file (you should extract it on the root of your memory Stick).

8. Disable USB Mode

9. IMPORTANT!!!

Install "HEN D", "Devhook .4XX launcher for 2.71" and "Devhook 0.51 launcher for 2.71- HEN-D]" files to the memory stick.
This must be performed on THIS VERY ORDER (1. hen d, 2. DH 0.4XX and 3. DH 0.51)

10. Launch HEN D(press O)

11. Launch Devhook .4XX launcher for 2.71 and start on 1.5

12. Scroll right to the GAME tab, scroll down to the memory stick icon.

13. Launch PSAR Dumper V2B. When prompted, press 'X'. Wait for the program to finish executing. Your PSP will automatically reboot when it's done.

14. Delete the file DATA.PSAR, and the PSAR DUMPER folders (inside GAME folder) you won't need that anymore.

15. Right click the folder F0, select Cut.
Double click on dh, then double click 282/301. Right click in the blank white space, select paste. Click "Yes to all" when prompted.

16 . REBOOT YOUR PSP!!!!
Once you do that you will be back on 2.71.

17. Launch HEN D (it will reboot)(press O)

18. Scroll right to the GAME tab an launch Devhook 0.51 launcher for 2.71- HEN-D]

19. Once in devhook Scroll to Flash Install, and press 'O'.

20. Now, press 'O' on "Install configfile to flash1:". A screen will come up, if you accept the terms, hold 'O' for a little more than a second.

21. Wait just a bit, then at the very bottom OR the very top of you screen it will say "press any key to continue".

22. Scroll to Firmware, press 'O', and ensure that 2.82/3.01 is selected, and press 'O'.

Then press "START DEVHOOK"

If all goes well, your PSP should boot into 2.82/3.01!

(you need to do the install just once, the nex time you run it you only need to start devhook)

Does this technique work on TA82 motherboard psps?

leonaheidern can i do it on my psp? i have a psp with 2.7 ta-082 but i have version hendh will it work on this or no? i don't know why i got this version i first use to have hen c and everything works fine then i placed hen d mixed with hen c files and i got hendh? help me please... thanks alot

Yes it does I did it with my TA-082 PSP with ver 2.71 firmware.

erm just download the files from the qj.net webpage and follow from step 1. Please just use HenD only. I cannot gurantee it works with HenC mixed files.

when i start devhook with 3.01 chosen, i get the following message:

startup the devhook
save launcher setting
loading devhook
dh ver. :0.51.0000
reboot system


and its frozen with that on screen

what gives?

I did the install and it works pretty well. So far the only problems I've noticed are:

1.PSP simply shuts down every time I try to quit a game.

For ppl who have never successfully installed a devhook on 082 - I would suggest to wait untill some better instructions come out. Like a clear, step by step "all you need from start to finish in one place" how-to.

The 'write config file to flash' bit may be a turn off for some. I was a bit hesitant cuz I'd hate to own a brick... But it worked (and yes, this step as outlined earlier by lend is required and can not be skipped http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthr...t=37889&page=4 )

I'm sure more releases will follow. I for one would like the ability to start 1.50 or 3.01 from the same mem stick ;-) I have no idea if it's not there because dark_alex wanted to get things done quickly or becuae it simply can not be done... If it CAN be done - I'm sure someone will make another release with 1.50 option included...

I'm having the same problem, after I quit a game HOME key then exit, it crashes and restarts the PSP (I have to restart it) so I have to do the HEND and DevHook every time I exit a game, somebody else here is having this problem?

Everyone else - The "Install to Flash 0" is a bit misleading. It actually created / fills the "F1" folder in tht 301 folder, not flash the actual PSP. I was getting a Black Screen, until I flashed the "F1" in the "Flash" menu in DA's Devhook 0.51. DON'T BE SCARED TO TRY IT!!!

So to doublecheck: Using HEN-C (or D) does not write to the psp itself. So there is no sign of the use of these brilliant programs on the psp itself after a hardreset.
Am I correct ?

are you going to release a firmware 3.0x SE ??

I mean, I know the other guys are TRYING, and I certainly don't have the skills to do it myself, But both trys at a 300SE that are out now don't work correctly, and don't even have all features enabled, which I DO use.

I can't get homebrew to work in one, and iso's won't work in the other.

PLEASE don't quit on us... a FULL working version of 3.0x by you would be a GREAT thing.

Hey guys, can someone please explain how to emulate 1.50 using Dev Hook for 2.71? When I select 1.50 in the firmware menu and hit "start" in DevHook, my screen goes black and the PSP hangs. Do I need to put some files in the 150 directory? Any help would be appreciated!
