GoldenEye 64 on the DS

Doesn't this make perfect sense? They did such a good job with Mario 64 so the DS is more than up to it. They could add Wi-Fi and Wireless support for multiplayer goodness and add to the game like they did in Mario 64 without losing the spirit of the game. It seems such a winner, a much loved game that would surely sell a pile of games and would be super popular on the Wi-Fi network. The only drawback I see is the potential to negatively affect the games legacy. Done right though that shouldn't be an issue.

There is such a rich library of games that could get this treatment and still be fresh and without making the DS seem less innovative.

Rare doesn't have the 007 license anymore, but ya I would never stop playing it if they did

Then perhaps Perfect Dark is more likely.. that would be cool, it's a very good game.

In a way it's a bit of a shame Nintendo is pushing so much for originality! I would love some handheld versions of loved console games given the DS love. As proven by XBLA and Ninties own plans Virtual Arcade there is a massive market for playing retro games. Nintendo has the best software library of any developer. Lets hope we do see some when the Wii is with us.

Right now my DS is by far my favourite console and I have them all going back to the NES.

Hmm.. what's up with the recent Golden Eye 64 threads. This is like the 4th thread so far that I've seen. Activision now owns Rare. if you want to, maybe you can e-mail them for golden eye 64.

I didn't hear anything about Activision buying Rare from MS, but if that's true that means Rare could put Goldeneye on the DS, since Activision owns the rights to 007. Do you have an article that's more then rumors?

I think he means Activision has the right to 007. MS still owns Rare. Also, though Activision may own the rights, Rare still owns the right to Goldeneye, so they are the ones you would contact.
