This information had been tested and is proven legit.

A Mod might want to sticky this as there are various threads asking these same questions here and in other forums. Thanks

Does my GTA work with the new 2.60/2.50 to 1.50 downgrader?

I am sure most of the 2.6 + PSP users are in a panic now with the release of a downgrader. for the few unfortuneate few that happen to not own a non-patched person of GTA finding one may be a probelm at the time. Lucky a way has been discovered to figure out which version you are truly buying. You can figure it out by looking at the serial numbers of the game. for your information ULES is the european serial starter, and ULUS is the US starter.

The following are for the EU/UK versions of the game:

GTA: LCS (Non-Patched 2.6 version):
ULES-00151#

GTA: LCS (Patched 2.6 Version):
ULES-00151#2

For the U.S version of the game:

GTA:LCS (Non-Patched Version):
ULUS 10041

Anything other the this is patched in the U.S

These differ from country to country, so sorry for any non-europe, and non-Us residents, you are on your own.

I hope this helps at least one person out there in their quest for the prepatched game.

good job! always appreciate collected information like this. keeps everything very clear. a few of my friends want to downgrade their 2.5/6s but they're too scared of bricking. i think this will help bring them to 1.5.

Hey man great thread I appreciate the content. I have a question, do you no what motherboards are shipped with the 'G' code? If not, is there any way to tell from outside the box? I bought two core systems and they were both ic1003, but I saw a premium system with that code on the box and I'm just wondering if you know. Thanks.

i have read from other posts and from personal experience.

most core systems have the ta-082 board. I know mine have and there has been great success in the value pack that they usually dont have the 082 board. the core psp i bought was a 2.6 as well as an 82 board.

All the ceramic whites sold in europe are coming with 2.60. Only if you manage to get a japanese one, they came with 2.0, but that was months ago.

This is a good reference, a friend of mine is currently wanting to buy a new PSP. Am I right in assuming that anything up to G (including G) will be downgradable?

And H and I could 'possibly' be 1C1003?

Cheers!

mine was (I)

Hi,

My Core Pack was I firmware 2.60 with the TA-082 mobo. So I returned it. Then I got a PSP Value Pack which is F and it's firmware 2.0 and was Not the TA-082 mobo. So then I was able to downgrade it using the 2.00 to 1.50 MPH downgrader. Now I can run hombrew etc...

Also check on the first post if your PSP is capable or not with the new or old downgrader. I never heard of TA-081 so you might want to google it.

Has anyone tried to use a downgrader on a H or I that does not have the TA-082 chipset?

Reason I am asking is because the downgrader states not to use it on these systems. I just want to see if that was tested or not.

Yeah

There are reports that people without the TA-082 Mobo and with a factory installed 2.60/2.50 have tried the downgrader and has been proven successful. There obviouly is a greater chance of bricking.

I had a factory 2.6 White PSP bought from Game, non TA-082 downgrade perfectly fine. This before I was aware that there was a higher chance of bricking a factory 2.6. From what I have read however it seems a few brickings may be caused by peoples impatience, my flash took 5 mins plus before finishing.
