Ok now we think we've seen it all with the DS, it can train your brain, organize your life, pit your gaming skills against others across the world - but wait for it...now it can teach you how to cook ?!?! An advert for what we beleive to be a new game for the DS has aired in Japan for a cooking game which makes great use of the touchscreen. Watch it and enjoy!
Let us know what you think! Another seemingly educational yet fun title .
I don't know japanese, but the two main functions are nice.
The Main one is a calendar based meal plan. Pick you date and then plan out your meals for that day. Then when the day/time comes just open it and follow the steps. The chef talks you thru it and you can change the pitch and rate he speak.
There are tons of recipes to choose from.
The second is (i think) a 'what is' menu. Listing kinds of meat/veggies/etc.. so you'll know what to buy (assuming since I don't know japanese)
It's almost like a video demo of Cooking Mama, another Japanese game where you learn how to make dishes by going thru the steps of chopping/cutting & cooking dishes.
If this doesn't get an English version then Nintendo should rethink.
I don't mean with English recipes (although that could be good) but I mean Japanese/Chinese dishes explained in English. You could go further and have worldwide ones from Italian to Greek. Shows that the DS really can be useful rather than just a games machine, but we already knew that I hope. Capabilities people, capabilities...
