Bugs In 360 Spring Dash Update

Microsoft's newly released 360 Spring dash update appears to have come with a few bugs. The update was so huge, boasting at least 125 new features, so there can be no surprise that several bugs have been found with the update. Some games can't be played, loading times on games have increased and there are reports of trailers lagging and skipping. Bare in mind, this could be down to user error or just problems experienced by a very small minority!

Here's a a list of complaints collected from the GamePlanet forums and comments on this site:

- Alright, I was playing burnout, no problems. This is after I downloaded the update, well in the middle of the game it crashed.NEVER had this happen before. got a error that said disc read error, clean disc. Well, ok fine i eject it, PERFECTLY CLEAN. reinsert it, and what is this? it says to play this disc insert it into an XBOX360. WTF do you think i just did? Now it wont play it at all. I will try to restart and go again. WTF did microsoft do to me?!?

- Well now I can't play Half Life 2. It loads almost all the way to the main menu, freezes and then the screen turns black. I can't even return to the dashboard! This sucks! I even tried downloading the backward compatible disc thing but now it won't reconize the file on the disk. WTF? This sucks M$!

- I don't know if it was just because of the latest update, but i just downloaded 'A scanner darkly' trailer.... And it is skippy as!!!
I'm having real issues with Oblivion at the moment as well. Everything is taking 10x longer to load, even the main menu etc

i totally agree with the post, my x360 is totally f*** up since the update... now NHL 2K6 (yeah i know it was bugged as hell before that) cannot even be saved in to franchise mode, as it bugs after the loading screen...

Got the same prob with Oblivion as the loading times is sucky as ****... same on you M$, now games runs like **** since the new update! Guess it's time for me to go FW Hack!

yeah, ive had the FW hack installed for a couple weeks and after the update my 360 will freeze up randomly. it can happen right after i boot and start like uno then 2-3 min it will freeze. i dont think its heat because it would run more then a few min from a cold start even if it did have overheating issues.
strangely enuf it has always frozen before or after im online in uno(been stuck on uno for a couple days, that game is addicting)
its never frozen up during a match. strange, it freezes on kameo, quake 4 and mlb 2k6 but that was a rental. atleast i can think the freeze issues are because of the M$ bugs and not my FW.

maybe this is their plan, give us the goods with bugs then after we seen how much better the new stuff is they offer a fix and the fix will also kill my FW, or maybe im just paranoid that because i have hacked FW M$ wants to get me.

I noticed GRAW does not seem right to me, like some glitches etc in the game i never had before, also there seems to be slowdowns on the dashboard etc.

hmmm. well i can tell you guys oblivion is running nice here, loading times are no different to usual, and in game is fine too, my 360 is pal, dunno if that makes any difference.
the other things i dunno about, i have hl2 but cant test it cos it dont work in VGA mode (thanks m$ ) lol and i cant be arsed to hook the av cable up to try it, not that i would play it through anyway after first completing it on pc.

No issues here, all games including graw and uno run flawless as usual.

i tried the game in a friend's console and we were able to play during 2 hours on his xbox360 (then we stopped by ourselves)

i used 2 have alot of problems with burnout until i turned off all ingame music,i think this helps with the disk access

just longer load-times here. also, at first i also went into account management and it froze. turned the console off, when i turned it back on didnt load any game. turned it off for an hour, came back and it was all good. load-times for Oblivion are hella long, before and after cache clearing :/

Ive played all my arcade games and Rumble Roses + Hitman demos with no problem. And also Rockstar Table Tennis. Ill try out Oblivion and GRAW and COD2 later if need be

God I can't believe M$ released an update that is so buggy (oh wait maybe I can)..........

That is just total crap. I have been holding off on updating my box because I don't give a squat about live and am enjoying playing oblivion and TR to much to chance toasting my system.

I feel for you guys. I am sure there will be some fixes in the next few days. It can't make game devs very happy to have there finished products rendered useless. This is the problem with a game console that has a dynamic OS.

M$ said that they would be pushing dash updates thru new games, sure hope they get all this worked out before they start doing that.

I too have noticed changes. I have applied the FW hack. Now backups are giving me "Dirty Disc" error in random spots. Madden 06 will get as far as the screen where you pick your teams, then when you go to start the game... boom dirty disc error.

Hitman also gives me the error in random spots, along with PGR 3. Yet Oblivion works fine as always and I don't notice longer than normal loading times with it. They were always pretty long.

I definitely got spoiled with the loading times from running games off the hard drive of xbox 1. Now everything on the 360 takes forever to load compared to it.

Madden 06 backup with orig ss.bin = dirty disc error after picking teams, right before the game starts

I dont no if the update has affected my 360 as ive not played anygames since updating untill i got Full Auto on wednesday, but in 1day my 360 has frozen 3 times whall playing Full Auto, i thaught it was a buggy games because the demo chrashed once or twice but now im wondering if its this new update...
