Thumbs up MPH Loader with custom firmware

EBOOT Changer & MPHGameloader Custom Firmware Loader.

For USE WITH DEVHOOKGL OR UMD EMULATOR PATCHED

What Is This Package & What Does It Do ?

MPH brought us his great 2.00 game loader thats runs firmware 2.00 games
whilst it works with some games some have sound & save probs.
Some guys on MPH's forum posted a method of creating a custom firmware from
v2.00 & v2.50 to make some newer games work ok E.G DBZ Shin Budokai.

The EBOOT Changer will copy & replace the EBOOT.PBP with a modded one to
load a modded mphloader.prx to look for foldes flash2 & flash3
instead of Flash0 & flash1.

OK The First Step Create A Custom Firmware.

First you need a copy of the v2.00 & v2.50 firmwares.
You can dump these from eboots found on the net using MPH's firmware loader.
When you have the firmware dumps create a folder called custom on your PC.
Copy the v2.00 Flash0 folder to it & rename it to Flash2.
Replace flash2/kd folder with 2.50 flash0/kd folder.
DO NOT REPLACE RESOURCE FOLDER INSIDE KD FOLDER..use 2.00 resource folder.
Then replace the flash2\vsh\module folder with the one from 2.50 dump.
Then copy the v2.50 Flash1 folder to it & rename Flash3.

Now we have our firmware we can install everything onto our psp.

Copy the MOD.PBP & ORIG.PBP to the root of your memory stick.
Copy the MPHEMULATOR folder to the root of your memory stick.
Copy the modloader.prx & EBOOT.PBP to the MPHGameloader folder.
Copy the Flash2 & Flash3 folders to the MPHGameloader folder.
Copy the stuff from PSP/GAME to PSP/GAME on you memory stick.

Ready To Run.

The default setting is to use the v2.00 already installed on your psp.
If you wish to run the custom firmware run the Eboot Changer from your psp memory menu
& select the MOD.PBP press O twice and when ms light stops flashing exit.
To revert to v2.00 do the same as above but choose ORIG.PBP.

I will take it you already know how DevHookGl works a readme is encluded for UMD EMU Patched.

Do you think this will open doors for games like fight night round 3
and other 2.5 games has anyone tested this?

thanx for this fantastic tutorial.

today,i've seen the two best tuto.your's and the silvershadow's one (http://mphwebsite.tuxfamily.org/punB...ic.php?id=481).

silvershadow explain us of we can use the same F0 and F1 for mphgameloader 1.1 and for the mph firmware launcher.no need getting two times the same files.

but now appears your tuto, and i want you to confirm me that it doesn't change anything for F0 and F1.

thanx.i'm very happy there are some people able to find the good words.

This is a nice little package. I followed it step by step and I must say very nice find. I hope you guys keep this up and maybe one day we will be able to play all games and firmware will no longer be a problem.

whackawookie can you tell me what games you have been able to run with this method.

and thanks to chossy for that very easy to follow post and find.

i simply have the FLASH0 and FLASH1 from a 2.5 firmware, with the RESOURCE folder within the KD folder found in FLASH0 being that from firmware 2,0 and all appears to work well including Dragon ball z.

Is there an advantage for me to do things the post #1 way

its design for those who want to mess with firmware with out breaking thier
v2.00 dump so you can run 2 extra folder.
no advantage over what you have done unless some games that worked before may or may not work with a modded firmware you can switch between with out having to plug into psp and re-upload

I should have asked this with the DBZ question, but how does this play with socom? Can you actually start a campaign? Is multiplayer do-able?

Oh ok, im trying your technique to do this.. I have DBZ working, just nto full sound either.. and with your way to do this just overwrite ms0:/MPHGameLoader/Flash0 and Flash1 with 2.50's files and rep[lace the resources with 2.00's Resources??

[EDIT] Nevermind, Ive had it working and I have a backup of my ms0:/ the way it works.. I dont think firmware installing on my psp is doing it right..
