Do you have windows media connect installed on your PC? If so, did you follow this tutorial:

http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/sy...o-media-pc.htm

If you did and still cant connect, then report back, might be a firewall issue.

I gave up with mine, i got a wireless connection and i cannot do anything to get it working, i turned off the firewall on the router and still nothing, i think the best way is cable but a huge cable would be needed for me. tell me how it goes if you get it sorted.

See, that's why I need more info because it might be more of a networking issue. From the sounds of it, both of you are having trouble making a tcp/ip connection to the 360 which means basically that the 360 and the pc arent seeing each other.

Well, if it doesnt work on XP then it wont on Media Center. This is an issue with the network traffic heading in the wrong direction. Here's a few things to do that might help:

Quote:
Compare the network settings on the Windows XP-based computer and on the Xbox 360 console.
• To obtain the network settings on the Xbox 360 console, follow these steps:
a. In the System section in the Xbox Dashboard, select Network Settings.
b. Note the IP address and the Subnet Mask.
• To obtain the network settings on the Windows XP-based computer, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
b. At the command prompt, type ipconfig /all, and then press ENTER.
c. Note the IP address and the Subnet Mask.
Verify that the correct ports are open for Windows Media Connect to function correctly

Also,

Verify that the UPnP Host service is running on the Windows XP-based computer. This service is required to host UPnP certified devices on the system. To determine the status of the UPnP Host service on the computer, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.
b. Scroll down the list of services until you find UPnP Host.
c. If the status of this service does not appear as Started, right-click the service, and then click Start.

and,

If you previously connected the computer that is running Windows Media Connect to an Xbox 360 console, disconnect the Xbox 360 console from the computer. To do this, follow these steps:
a. In the System section of the Xbox Dashboard, select Computers.
b. Select Windows-based PC, and then select Disconnect.

Note If the Xbox 360 console has not made a successful connection, the Microsoft Windows-based PC option will not appear.
c. Move to the Media section of the Dashboard, and then select either Music or Pictures.
d. Select Computer, and then try to connect the console to the computer again.

That should help figure out or atleast narrow down the problem a little. Also, keep in mind that you might have shutdown your PC's firewall but a good amount of routers have built in firewalls. Here's a link that will help you in deciding which ports to leave open on your routers firewall and your PC's firewall for it to work:

connecting

screw all of that, i just done it round my mates house last night, he has a pc with a wireless internet and we needed to get it through to xbox, this is what we did, took us 10 minutes (we couldnt connect the xbox directly to router as that was in the other house):

Internet <---- Wireless Router <---(over wireless)-- PC wireless card / PC Internal Lan Card <-(crossover cable)---xbox

There's a "crossover" cable connecting the xbox to the pc lan card.
We set the following:

Xbox System Settings > Networking:
Ip address: 192.168.0.2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.0.1

PC Lan Card network Settings (found in control panel - network connections):
IP address: 192.168.0.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: Blank - no need to enter anything

note:
take care of the IP numbers - if your wireless card already has an IP of 192.168.0.x then you would need to use different ip numbers & gateway numbers above, ie 10.0.0.2 for xbox & 10.0.0.1 as gateway and then 10.0.0.1 on PC lan card.

After setting all of that i right-clicked on the Wireless network connection on the pc and shared it (right click - properties - advanced tab - share this connection tickbox) so that the PC Lan connection has access to internet, and that was it. After doing all of that xbox had access to the internet and we were on live...

At my own home i have the xbox360 connected directly to the router over a normal Lan cable and i didnt need to set up anything, just connect and test connection...

have you got .netframework 1.1 installed? as this was the problem i had getting it to work.
also you dont use the mac address on the wireless adaptor you use the mac address on the machine itself.

this may not help but these were the problems i came across
