EA: PES is struggling, this year it's all about FIFA and CoD

A senior EA executive has commented that PES is struggling as this year it's all about FIFA 10 and the new Modern Warfare 2 video games. The exec noted that at any other time of the year, PES would probably perform pretty well but there just isn't room for it right now.

Ramsdale, however, had this to say: "FIFA, the quality bar, again unbelievable. 91 per cent Metacritic on the two next-gen formats. 1.7 million units sold the first weekend in Europe. Extraordinary numbers.

"We've seen PES come. PES is struggling like most other non-mainstream franchises. This is very much a FIFA and Call of Duty year. There is quality product out there that is failing in the marketplace that at any other time would perform very well. So it's a tough place, but FIFA is a beneficiary of that, and we're really pleased with how FIFA's coming along.”
