MS rolls out new eco-friendly 360 cases, annoys gamers

It would seem as if MS has decided to roll out some brand new eco-friendly Xbox 360 cases which do not use as much plastic as previously. Apparently these changes make the disc harder to push out of its case which is causing some annoyance.

The funny thing about the word or ... prefix "eco" is that it never specifies its true meaning.

ECOlogical savings? or ECOnomic Savings? lol

so what is it? save the environment? or save their greed & indifference by finding a new way to cut down their costs by saving money on plastic for the cases, and/or a new manufacturer that sells for way less to them?

Which theory is the most aligned with publicly traded corporation theory and goals? Let's think for a moment. Hmmmmmmm

Im kinda surprised it took them so long...many of the dvd distributors switched to those years ago. I actually like the even more eco friendly ones though...they have a paper outer casing with a very thin rigid recycled plastic liner...they seem easier to get the disks out of.

once upon a time it was raining and my poor postman had to bring me a game that i ordered online (well ok ebay...) which was packed in paper so that the Inlay was completely wet and therefore destroyed!

Now with this *improvement* not even the Disc is safe from rain anymore

This will just cause an increase in the amount of replacement DVD cases.

These cases are horrible. I have some BD movies with them. They ruin your covers if you touch them. If they really wanted to be eco friendly, they'd use digipacks or cardboard cases.

less plastic = lower cost, lower weight= lower shipping cost, cases break easier= more plastic=more profit, damaged cases= lower tradein value=more newer games sold=go to start
