Sony: It's all PS3's fault that there isn't many PSP games

Sony has blamed the PS3 for the limited amount of titles available on the PSP. Sony Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida claimed that Sony has put too much focus on PS3 titles which caused a slow down in PSP titles. However he commented that the problem has been sorted out.

The PSP may finally be getting a good run of games with title like Beaterator, LittleBigPlanet and GTA Chinatown Wars but it wasn’t always the case. Now Sony’s bosses have revealed just why it’s handheld took so long to take off. Read on to find out why…

According to Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida say the Playstation 3 is to blame for the slow trickle of titles for the PSP.

“A couple of years ago we clearly put too much focus on PS3 titles,” says Yoshida. “It caused a lack of support for the PSP last year. We need to be focused and gear a lot of our resources back to the PSP. We have many titles this year.”

They probably know DA has stopped creating cfw and know that nobody else can make a good cfw. Therefor they now see a good reason to support the psp. With the go being hack-proof for now, they think people will pay $40 for a digital title. Not me though. No way would I pay $40 for a psp game.

I don't even know if I agree with them releasing more psp games. I do appreciate the fact that they do release them, but if I were sony I would have probably given up on this generation of psp already. Then again, that wouldn't sit too well with a lot of people; well whatever, if there's a game that tickles my fancy I'll get it.

Thumbs down

And so it has, GT Mobile sucks (it's begging for a Career Mode!), Macross Frontier Ace & Utlimate are Japanese ONLY!

Other then the "Above" what could be of any possible interest to anyone?

That S0NY chap has it correct though, the "Problem" was solved by me ditching the Platform years ago. I only picked it up again for the waste that was GTM

don't forget the tons of psp games, where they released a ps2 version simultaneously or a little bit later. It's not that the ps2 has sold 140 million and is still set up in many houses...

my mother went into EB games to buy my brother a 360 for his birthday, anyway mum told the guy that "they already have a ps3, ps2, xbox, 2 psps, ds and a gba" and the guy in the store was apearantly like "and out of thoes the psp is definatly the best"

im not sure whether i should laugh at him or not.

I don't think is so...Now on psp there are great titles.

This games for November - December
Pro Evolution Soccer 2010
Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines
LittleBigPlanet
Tekken 6
Army of Two: The 40th Day
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Loco Roco:Midnight Carnival

New Years
Dante's Inferno
Metal Gear: Peace Walker

This is a stupid comment from Sony..

Look at Nintendo for example in the same situation.

Wii is #1, and DS both still get "max support" from devs. Yes, alot is crap, but its still nice number of game titles each week for both consoles.
My consoles: (None is modded)

Xbox 360 - 120.GB
Nintendo Wii - 32.GB
Playstation 3 - 250.GB

-----------------------------------------------------
Currently Playing:
PS3: Uncharted 2, Pure, The Godfather 2, Skate 2, The Punisher
360: Forza Motorsport 3, Zombie Apocalypse, Shadow Complex
Wii: The Conduit, Dead Space Extraction
Recently finished: Modern Warfare 2, , Borderlands (100%), Brothers in Arms. HH, Battle for Pacific, Resident Evil 5, Mass Effect, Shatter, Cuboid

in all fairness, the amount of games that we've all 'acquired' since launch will last us a lifetime anyway.
