Modern Warfare 2 expected to exceed $500 million in first week

Analyst Michael Pachter has predicted that sales of Modern Warfare 2 will exceed $500 million during the first week of its launch. He also expects the title to easily sell 10 million copies during the final quarter of this year.

Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter believes global sales of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will "exceed $500 million in the first week following launch".

In his Activision Blizzard Q3 Preview, Pachter also estimated that the highly anticipated title will "easily sell 10 million units in Q4 [Oct-Dec]"

Speaking on GT's Bonus Round last month, Pachter said that with the right marketing the title could achieve Q4 sales of up to 14 million units.

i downloaded the rip of it (bad person i know, but i will buy retail), and it is amazing. 50 cent's voice is actually in it, and it made me laugh for like 20 minutes

I finished the leak, then cancelled my pre-orders for the 360 and ps3 versions. I normally buy games worth buying after getting a backup.

This one was....well too up its own head. Killzone 2 was better. I think I mostly cancelled because I kind of dislike how douchey IW have become.

Now that I know 50 cent was in it, I am even more convinced cancelling was the right choice. Saved 90 pounds.

Why would you pre-order it for both consoles anyways? well forget it... oh and "fitty" is in it? I mean honestly, if they wanted a rapper in it they could have done better right? isn't Method Man into games?

Anyways, personally I don't care about dedicated servers, but I put myself in the shoes of those gamers that buy a COD game for online play mainly and think that IW have been pretty sheisty about this. I certainly wouldn't appreciate if they changed an integral part of an RPG series I liked just because people that don't care about the genre much wouldn't care.

This is yet another instance of a dev making a "good enough" game with casual gamers in mind I think. it's all good to make simpler, or less feature rich games, but take a something that's had such a long following as COD and start to de-evolve the series just because you can get away with it and I think we have a problem.

MW2 is starting to sound like the band you liked in college until it got to mainstream and you caught your mom singing one of their songs to herself. Im sure it will do well...but I think they are going to be missing alot of their core audience.

COD: Modern Rehash is lame.


Only tool bags like it, all the original gamers who brought the franchise to where it was right now are basically left out.

Well metal changed because of one thing: RAP.

Ever since puff donkey came onto the scene in the mid 90's the populace on a whole has been spiralling towards idiocy.

I remember in 1996, we STILL had remnants of the metal bands, the brit pop bands, and then bands like no doubt and garbage which were labelled alternative.

Then the pressure to be black took over and we had limp bizkit and those morons from stinkin park deface "metal" forever. Face it dude, as long as we have beyonce, jay-z, single ladies, baby daddies, ho's and pimps, its never going to be the same again. (The funny thing is they've stopped shooting each other now as well so you can't rely on that either).
