Hi all!

Been out of the scene for a WHILE... could someone update me as to the recent happenings with regard to firmwares 5.00+, games that require new firmware, decryption keys (prxdecrypter needs updating, but is there a new psardumper released?), and all these silly PSPGEN custom firmwares I keep hearing about? I'd like to have a go at getting things moving again, especially with such nice games as Gran Turismo being released

PSPGEN has a new developer, GENyUS, who decided to work on GEN CFW since Miriam left the scene

5.55 required games won't run on actual CFW (5.50 GEN-B2)
need to patch boot.bin of ISO etc

6.00 was decrypted by PSPGEN team, but they didn't release a PSAR dumper

some idiots (Team "MACK") edited some rco text and hexed prx from 5.50 GEN and said they're working on CFW 6.00 MAC
sort of bullsh*t
Freeplay debunked them by first showing the original features of 6.00 and then made a "fake" 6.00 CFW by editing rco and prx

Dark_Alex is on hiatus and has no plans for 6.00 M33

I've been looking at the PSPGen 6.00 thing... it could easily be a fake. Just because they showed a file list and compared dates and file sizes doesn't necessarily mean they decrypted it.

PsarDumper 5.50 is the latest available and has NO new keys, so I'm stuffed at the moment.

yeah, if they have the decryption keys they should at least release a psar dumper
would be interesting for me, as a theme developer, to look into the rcos and prxs

You dont need the prx keys to make themes, user prx modules can be decrypted using the last public psardumper in 6.00 too.

5.50 psardumper can only decrypt user modules, right?

don't force a developer! we first need a real decryption of 6.00 and its keys

You might have more luck than I had so give it a go anyway.

That relied on deleting eboot.bin and renaming boot.bin to eboot.bin as far as I can tell, hardly a patch. Impossible in GT because boot.bin is a blank file.

Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny had unencrypted BOOT and EBOOT bins swapped from an earlier 'beta' so I'm led to believe.

If you know how to obtain them, let me know, I'll help you

It seems there is a very strange silence from the "masters".
Psardumper 550 seems kind of a joke, someone just added
the table mode for 5.5 (which happened to be the same as
5.0) and added the new prx tag (with incorrect "5.0" keys).
What it does is only decrypt modules with previously known keys
and skipped the files which cannot be decypted....
