FMCB Install (BOOT.ELF not found)

I have a PS2 scph-39001 and I am using the 007 swap exploit (swapped an elf file from the original with the fmcb installer)

it says that it cant find the usb etc files and then says it cant find BOOT.ELF in the INSTALL folder.

Is it the flash drives I'm using? I've tried 4 flash drives and 1 external HD.

any suggestions? thanks


also, as far as usb hd support, how do I know what will work? I tried a usb to 2.5" sata external hd, but I also have a 3.5" ide external hd that I forgot to try, do you think that will work? thanks
