Broken partition...DMS format tool taking FOREVER to load!

From what I remember I have a 250GB hd in my ps2 and tried installing a game using faplink which failed halfway. [can't plug it into my PC because lost the power cable to my Enclosure ]

Managed to get HDLoader to rip the game instead (shocking as for some reason it literally will not rip any game that is on a burned CD/DVD)

After the rip was complete, HDLoader says their are no games on the HD. I'm chalking this up to the botched install from faplink I didn't get a chance to remove the partition for.

Now I've loaded up DMS Format tool and it's reading the hd ( the hd making the same noises in sequence over and over again with the light on) and it's been about an hour........

is this jus taking long because out of the 250GB i have about 20GB left? or did that botched faplink install do more damage than I thought?

leaving it on overnight, will report in the morning, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank's for reading
