0xfob has coded a simple DS sampling keyboard that uses the DS's microphone and touchscreen.

Ever since I saw Ferris Bueller's day off (IMDB) I wanted to have a sampling keyboard, but these things were always too expensive for me. So, as a first coding experiment with my Nintendo DS, I coded a software sampling keyboard that uses the DS's microphone and touchscreen. It's still pretty basic, but I think it's already quite funny to use. So, feel free to try it out and please give me bug reports and feature requests.
on the tip of everyone's mind is will it brick my console?
That was the first thing I thought, I can recover the DS bcs I have flashme (great firmware) on it, but I can't recover the Supercard if it's firmware gets wiped too, like the bricker does. So I won't run it at all, even though the sourcecode is provided.
Brick was the first word that came to my mind when I saw this app. I really want to try it cos it looks cool but I can't afford to replace my DS if it gets bricked. That DickFader or whatever his name is, is a complete tosser.
