no matter how many times you change your name, you keep the delaystation ****.
just bought the game today and didn't see any freezes in single player yet. If it's the multiplayer or the XMB information board that's something else.

This doesn't work for everyone, but it worked for me (60gb here). Just delete the installed data (not your save game) and let the game reinstall. Not a single freeze after that for me.

All the ps3 PR boys need to get a grip, every game that has come out for the "big black ufo (unidentified F**k**g object) " has had problems and most have required hdd installs aswell, let alone me buying 3 copies of pro evo only to find that the cd key is bieng used by someone else or the game was BROKE at first. Which brings me to the question what the f**k is on those BD discs that doesnt fit on the 360 hd size discs, prob sony pr stuff lol. Also on the 360 side yes weve all had rrod failures ive had a few myself but with the latest hardware they seem to be more reliable and with a two week technical hardware error turnaround (average for me) it still seems to be quicker than waiting for a patch for most of my ps3 games which eventually led me to selling it.

seeing as it is fixable its not the consoles fault completely..
They should have checked this earlier

Exact, the issue is on both ps3 and xbox version.
There is also a network-wide poll:

Hey Salmon face, i love you sig mate...no really, it's great
Good grief some you don't get it at all. This is Hideo Kojima we're talking about, a fucking game making titan. If he says 50gb is too small, 50gb is too small.
What do you make of the 'game making titan' saying that MGS4 is using the super powerful Cell to it's limits?

50 gig's really is not the issue, easily put to 2 blu-ray disc's[100 gigs,MSG4 should have went this route to me,could have added all game data and all language and all pure uncompressed audio] back on topic:
This whole fix thing is hyped up more then it seems.

The freezing problem isn't related to savefiles/gamedata! I was analizing (analizing is too big world - i was just checking activity) traffic in my network and noticed one thing - when my game freezes and when game doesn't start PS3 is transferring something trough the network. So I decided to investigate it and logged off PSN. guess what? It worked. It looks like freezing is caused by crapy GTA4 servers.
So for everyone with freezing problems - just sing off from PSN before you start the game and you'll be fine.

I'm getting freezing issues when it comes to the initial loading screen, it just doesn't advance any further. Sometimes it freezes in the middle of the game as well. I've found that flicking the switch at the back of the console on and off solves it, for one load-up anyway. I have to keep doing this EVERY time and it's beginning to piss me off.

-Other various consoles e.g. NES, SNES, GameCube, Saturn... the kind that gather dust

Okay, but will the game work OK when I sign in to go online in multiplayer mode, after I boot up the game?
