First WORKING NES Emulator For XboX 360
This will be posted on the main page shortly, but I figured I would go ahead and drop in the forum so people can check it out now. Xexter has found a way to run a NES emulator on the XboX 360 using MCE. At the moment there is no sound but it runs at almost full speed. Here is more info about it and a link for download:
Quote:
Found a way to add a menu for the roms list so you will have to edit the nes.htm and change <param name="ROMFILE" value="/roms/whateverrom.zip" /> to whatever Nes rom you want to play. I've included a Public Domain rom for testing but have verified Zelda1-2, Excitebike, and TecmoBowl and all worked.
Please do not ask for ROMs
INSTALL:
You will need to extract the rar into C ocuments and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\Media Center\Media Center Programs\ on your media center box. It took a bit for the icon to show up under More Programs but it finally will.
NOTES: Sound is not functioning, Media Center 2005 is required. If it locks up you will need to run something that warns you that it is a web page and check the box that says "Don’t show this again". Once you do that it should run fine. I created an MCL that just went to Google and then checked that box. I've also attached an image with the mapping of the Xbox Controller to the corresponding keyboard keys.

it works too, you cannot load a new rom though but renaming a zipped rom to the free rom runs it fine

you need a PC with XP Media Center Edition installed onto it. After that you have to put both the PC and 360 through a setup thing and then you can run the Media Center functions on the 360.

you need one of them in order to save the settings on the 360 ... how can you not have one or the other??? thats just silly.
if i was you i'd invest in a Memory Unit and get more games, the HDD is only useful for the Backwards Compatibility and that sucks so far, which is why i put off getting it and i got 2 new games instead
I was in the same boat at one time and i don't regret getting the memory unit over the HDD, if you want backwards compatibility just get a preowned Xbox since that doesn't have compatibility issues, it's easier to find and cheaper too. The winning arguement was that i bought my 360 to play 360 games, not a small handful of xbox games.

The hdd is used to play free demos of 360 games, and videos downloaded from MS marketplace.
The hdd is used in some games (Oblivion) to decrease the loadtimes.

Memory Unit at the moment, it is inevitable that there'll be a new and bigger HDD in the future so the price of the 20gb HDD will come down drastically.
i'd rather have a couple of full 360 games rather than a lot of demos.
Memory Unit FTW!!!

Hi,
i tryed to run this Emu but it dont work at 100%.
I can start it on my PC and it works only if i start it direcly from the extracted folder. Runing it with MCE or MCE with the XboX works to but i only get a white window an not the nes game.
Are there any special Options or Plugins that i have to install on my PC ?
