I run the Repartition Flash option, then try to install the firmware, but still it gives me the same error reaching 15% during flashing files and stopping with error reading PBP

Sorry I thought I replied to this...musta exited bfore submitting.
The install stopping with an error reading PBP makes me wonder if your DC files or the SONY update PBP have become corrupt somehow.
Try redoing your MMS with this:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WQZCBPTY
It's Rain's UltraLiteMMS and a confirmed working 5.00 PBP from SONY
When you're done, load up DC8 with pandora and Format Lflash before trying install of m33 or OFW.
[EDIT]
I was playing some WoW and it crossed my mind that you mentioned your UMD drive and various things started acting all gank. I'm thinking your IDstorage may have been corrupt. This probably the least used option in the DC8 menu but from the root menu select: NAND operations>IDStorage tools>Create New IdStorage
Your IDstorage contains a lot of things unique to your PSP including your MAC adress, UMD driver, etc.
This option will restore/recreate what your system needs to function.
