x clamp fix now over heating?

Hi hope someone can help.

I was getting the 3 rrod so i've done the x clamp mod and initially (using 2 washers for spacers) was still getting the 3 rrod, so i removed a set of washers so there was only 1 set of washers as spacer this time it booted and within 30 secs it over heats with fans plugged in and fan guide in place.
I havent replaced the thermo paste as a lot of guides say you only loose 1 deg in temp. Do you think replacing the thermo paste would solve this issue or is there any thing else that would cause this like a short??

Also note if i leave it for 15 mins it will boot for around 30 secs ish and then fault for over temp, if i then turn it off and straight back on it will fault within 7/10 secs. Which i tjink is just a thermal paste issue. If this is true would it not take the console longer to over heat??

thanks Richy

YOU MUST replace the thermal paste. Otherwise all the heat from the chip wll build up under the heatsink casusing 2-3 red lights.

Using only 1 washer to space is asking for a cracked processor if you tighten it to much.

The reason for the exact measurements of screws and washers is so that you get the same exact spacing as the xclamps but a more reliable connection.

And if your only using 1 washer total and not 1 on either side, expect to be getting no video or worse very soon.

Its funny how people need tutorials, then they think they are smarter then the tut and try it thier own, unknowing way
