Reports of bannings happening

on top i cant recover my gamertag off live using the hdd on the not banned unit.my profile shows in the menu for memory settings as corrupt,like someones already pointed out,on the banned console i can use the hdd.i am not even gonna reformat the hdd and try cos if i do i will be shooting myself in the foot.

if i was desperate (which i aint) i would just go out and buy a new elite with mw2,just use it for that.only means i got to create a new gamertag,either 1 month live trial or pay £40 for 12 months.alternatively buy mw2 for ps3 (which i got) use psn.just ps3 controller sux a lot (in my opinion)

so if i was someone reading this right now,i would not bother just sitting there crapping it,just log into live and accept the outcome if you get banned.at least you get 1 console to play backups on with your gamertag and if your that bothered just buy another unit (not modded) and buy the games you would like to play.

best was for ms to mess the hdd up now i know it wont get me into any more bans on other units.

I wonder what would happen if you back up your profile on a memory stick before logging on live.

Then find out you got banned. But you still have your profile backed up. I wonder if you could reinstate your gamertag on a new console with that backed up profile on memory rather than HD.

I'm probably going to do that, I need to buy an official memory stick crap from MS to try. I don't want to lose my profile. Chances are I am banned aswell, although I have not touched MW2 or any other game pre-release. But its only a matter of time before I get caught, if im not already.

I would assume just unplug the hard drive before connecting to Live? Then if banned plug it in to the non-modded console and I imagine it would be fine there. But that's just a guess.

Here's something I thought about. If you also have a MC but your saves are NOT corrupted, could you recover the profile to the MC then when on your banned console use the profile of the HDD and if you are on the non-banned console could you load it of the MC?

Cant even believe some of you guys are "dumb struck" you have banned xboxs for playing modern warfare 2 and forza 3 early.

Cant think how that happened, played millions of games on one machine and not banned..............mw2 on the other banned..........makes no sense.

No abgx for wave 4, no 1.61 for liteon. Use activate.iso at own risk...........................how many warnings do some people need.

I'm not banned and still checking all games with abgx that i can and not playing any wave 4 games as yet.

Yes its a pain in the backside as i too want to play mw2. Funny enough live is all peachy.

Got banned too (never player pre-releases - don't have any - nor backups online -have only 3 backups for local multiconsole games - , only played original retail games online).
Can't install games to HDD on banned console but still can do so on unbanned console with this HDD.
Can't play games from HDD on banned console but still can do so on unbanned console (after reinstall) with this HDD.
Gold Live account gets corrupted by banned console. Offline and Silver accounts not affected.
Performed one test : retrieved my gold gamertag on unbanned console, moved it (you can't copy) to a memory card, plugged that card on banned console : the profile gets corrupted but works from the card on the banned console, but doesn't on the unbanned!!! So finally moved the corrupted profil on banned console's HDD and retrieved my gamertag on the unbanned console's HDD. Copied important saves from one console to another via my memory card and everything is well on the unbanned console. Fortunately i kept my old Special Halo machine virgin/stock.
I don't really care about being banned but disabling games loading from HDD just s*c*s

This is the first time I've heard "no 1.61 for liteon". What's that about? I haven't played any wave 4 games (or 3 that I can recall) but I did flash to 1.61.

thats cos people are posting here just like you just posted yourself,i aint suprised at all.whats actualy suprising if anything is the hdd issue.

if i had a choice i would have preffered to have still had it but,i got another old crappy one so i can go on live with that and another profile.so i got better unit for personal use and xbox live gets the crappy unit with av port and vga lead (my poor eyes)

I am about to buy a new xbox 360, I will have one for copies and another for originals and xbox live.

Oh my mistake.. It was 1.6 not 1.61. It makes sense now!

for people who have been banned and lost the install games to HDD function, if you put back your original 20GB in the 360 would that also have lost the same function or would it be ok for installs.i'm just thinking is it just tied to the HDD or the console. also if you redone the 120GB / 250GB with hddhackr and the hddss.bin file would this bring back the install function or would it still be unsupported.......................sudeki300

From what I hear the function is purely for the console (probably a flag on the NAND).

I have a question, I plan to get an elite console and basically start a new (except for the profile) so I dont loose my saves on my main silver account.

I have a backup of the fallout 3 GOTY edition but my friend has the disc at the moment, can I install this using the backup on my banned console WITHOUT signing in to corrupt my silver account and will it work on my unbanned console?

Also, can I have the licenses installed on my unbanned console, so I can play the games without being connected to XBL?

Only Borderlands (verified) on my account and 120GB HDD connected to LIVE and Modern Warfare 2 (RRoD release) on a spare 60GB HDD (dummy account) not connected to LIVE.

LiteOn v1 1.6 FW
