GT 5 cost $60 million to make according to Polyphony

Polyphony has put a figure on the development cost of Gran Turismo 5 and it's $60 million. But they note that considering the size of the game, the figure is a pretty small amount.

What did GT5 cost to make?

[He and translator do some figuring, converting yen to dollars] $60 million. There are other games that cost more. Considering the size and scale of the game, I think it's probably a fairly small amount.

Oh. So the game is finished, you've played it and has seen the vehicle damage?

Actually they said the game was finished. And I saw footage of the damage. It's cheap and only a small percent of the cars offer it.

Explains a lot...

How are they going to justify you buying more tracks? other than the 2 (maybe 3?) on the game? This goes for the cars too. Need I forget supporting the Japanese economy for past 5+ years? This is insulting, this should have been a launch title. Polyphony could have staged the game and cumulative sold DLC or Media Upgrades for these "changes". This is going to be an epic fail. If it ever comes out. Bunch of pompous A**holes! This is the shame PS3 owners (including myself) have to deal with. I have a 360 and I can name several great racers. Insulting...

whatever the blokes name is (the dev at Polyphony) said the game was ready to go, that was a couple of months ago...

when a few racers came out recently he has delayed it because GT5 is kack in comparison... he's delayed it to tweek it some more... this game is gonna be the biggest joke IMO... so much time has been spent on it, its probably gonna look just average...

They said a little bit ago that it was done and they could release it whenever they want. Now they're just doing little bs to the title. They'll release when they feel like it. Delaying it more.

So this means they only have to sell 10 million copies to recoup their development costs!

What about GT5 prologue? That money paid for the development and stuff too. So maybe they only need to sell 7 million copies? lol

GT5 already beat the competition months and months ago, well technically even GT5: Prologue beat everything in terms of graphics and realism.

Gt5 will be a great game. Anyone telling themselves differently are spending too much time listening to turn 10s hyperbole. I for 1 am looking forward to gt5s rumored track editer. Hope they get the dynamic weather in too.

Btw for those mathmatically challenged. 10mil copies @ $60 is $600mil. Gradeschool math ftw
